Miss Saigon Chicago NW Suburban Premiere opens!"Miss Saigon" to be performed by Up & Coming Theatre CompanyUp & Coming Theatre Company (UAC) proudly presents the Northwest Suburban Chicago premiere of “Miss Saigon.” In “Miss Saigon,” Alain Boublil and Claude-Michael Schönberg (the creators of “Les Misérables”) bring Puccini's “Madame Butterfly” to the modern world in a moving testament to the human spirit and a scathing indictment of the tragedies of war. In the turmoil of the Vietnam War, an American soldier and a Vietnamese girl fall in love, only to be separated during the fall of Saigon. Boublil and Schönberg’s latest musical, “The Pirate Queen” will premiere this fall in Chicago. Up and Coming Theatre was established in 1992 and premiered it’s first production, “A Chorus Line,” in 1993. A non-profit theatre company, UAC targets showcasing new professional talent as well as donating proceeds to select local charities. The cast features local resident Allison Orobia, a performer with the Grant Park Symphony Chorus, as Kim, the young, naive, but strong-willed Vietnamese Orphan.
