Miss CongenialityMy brother was watching Miss Congeniality yesterday, and it was at the part where they take her in to the airplane hanger and are trying to clean her teeth and fix her hair. Grace complains and the dentist tells her, "It's just a cleaning!", to which she replies: "I'm talking about Sweeney Todd back here!" I never noticed that before, but I started cracking up and my brother had no clue why. |

Yeah, i noticed that too, thought it was pretty funny. There are actually a lot of jokes in that movie that only certain groups of people would understand.................hysterical film. | ||||||

theres also a bit in that movie where Gracie is talking to someone i think its the cute guy that she's always fighting with, but she says to him "yeah you'll get yours Henry Higgins"
On second thoughts maybe she'l talking to the gay makeover guy. Michael Caine's character - that makes more sense. i love this movie. Its so funny. |

I always get random musical references and no one around me does. *le sigh* We had a pie sale at school today and I couldn't eat. |

Miss Congeniality
They're called allusions. Except, of course, that neither of these are exclusively musical theatre references. Both have precedents that are non-musical and (in terms of Sweeney Todd) non-theatrical. Later days David |
