MILLY! - A NEW MUSICALMILLY! is a new musical about the life of American President Millard Filmore and his wife Abigail. I had the pleasure of interviewing its creator Allan Provost by email and you can read all about it at http://www.jorgeplace.com/MusicalChronicles/MusicalChronicles.htm |

Everyone's going to confuse that with "Thoroughly Modern Millie." A school nearby just did it, and everyone just calls it "Millie". MT shall be confusing.

It's the same situation as Phantom and Phantom of the Opera [The former is much better] |

I think what will kill it is lack of interest from the public. The topic won't interest theatergoers and the poster
looks old and tired. Brings up another element for a successful musical, the topic. Les Miz sold itself to the public. Milly! sounds like someone calling their dog. |

Yeah... and I wouldn't have called it Milly! anyway. it sounds old and a bit cheesy to me. too much like Oliver! or something. I would have given it a snappier name... and a snappier poster. |

Millard Fillmore! Ok I love history but I gotta say whoever thought of the idea about a musical about him has WAY too much time on their hands. Bad title too. There are so many interesting presidents...Jackson, Johnson, Pierce, McKinley, T. Roosevelt, Monroe...why Fillmore?!?!

Amen to that. I'd like to see a musical about T. Roosevelt, as long as it's not called Teddy! |

Yeah, some theatre-goers probably don't know who Millard Fillmore is. I'd like to see a musical on John Adams. I know 1776 does a lot to that effect but there should be an entire musical with just John and Abigail and their letters. I'd also like to see a musical about JFK. |
