MiLeZ vs, LumBabsFan - Who's the biggest fan?

Ok...LumBabsFan and I have decided it was necessary to start a thread to have our friendly competition over who is the biggest fan of Beauty and the Beast.

What we will do is write a Reply to this topic and explain WHY each of us is the biggest fan (is fan the right word?).

I will also start a poll, and once you have read our arguments, vote who you think wins! I'll even make a signature thing for the winner.

Ok, LumBabs....you are up. LET THE GAMES BEGIN!

**EDIT*

To clarify what was said on the other topic this stemmed from. It's less of who is the biggest fan and more of who was more upset when the show closed!

AGAIN, this is a light-hearted topic. If you are going to bring negative attitudes into here, DON'T. MdN has enough of that to begin with.

Let's save time and say the LumBabsFan wins. Everyone knows it.

Agreed.
MiLeZ

I wouldn't be too sure. Wait for our arguments first!

I would be:
a) she's been here a few years and still has an enormous passion for the show
b) look at her user name
MiLeZ

a) I've seen the show around 300 times
b) I was in the 3rd National Tour Company

I don't doubt she is a huge fan! This was just half joke, half competition!
Trevor reincarnate

I've been in a production of Annie. Twice. Doesn't mean I'm it's biggest fan...
MiLeZ

Well, for me it does mean I'm a fan Smile
Trevor reincarnate

Second biggest.
LumBabsFan

  • Seen it 76 times on Broadway, and have a few regionals lined up.
  • I run the official website for a dear friend who was in the show for 2 years. I also have another one lined up.
  • Ask anyone around certain parts of the net. I'm known as Beauty's Broadway Ambassador.
  • I can tell you every single word of the show backwards and forwards, songs and all.
  • I am in the Playbill Yearbook.See here.
  • Went to a few of the milestone shows, including anniversaries and the 5000th. See here.
  • I go back to the Lunt and people STILL say "Hey! How are you?"
  • I have been personally invited to witness an understudy's performance.

And most important, and nearest to my heart. When Beauty posted closing, I arranged for a gathering of fans around the world to happen. I'll reference you to a few people if need be.

...and now that I look a little foolish =)...
jackissensational

Both fairly good arguments, if you ask me. Lumbabs's is a little more detailed. What else ya' got, Miles?
Trevor reincarnate

Nothing.
Because he's not the biggest fan.
CartoonJessie

Seeing a show 300 times while you're WORKING at a show just doesn't compare to going to see the show over 70 times, loving the show SO much that you don't mind paying the -whatever-how-much-it-costs- to go and see it over and over again. If you work there, it's just so that you're fortunate enough to GET PAID to go and see it. So that makes the show-counts kind of... not counting.

It just can't compare. And I'm not saying that because you're working it you can't love it as much, but I've known Faith for a few years now, online though, and she has spoken about this show with such a passion to fellow BatB-fans. And not just the Broadway-fans, but also the fans of the movies. She is truely an authority on BatB on Broadway and every single person that calls himself a BatB-fan knows that.

Ah. Ehm. I kind of feel it necessary to introduce myself now cause it's my first post here. I'm Jessie and I'm 24 and I'm from Belgium. No, I don't know Faith in real life. I haven't been that fortunate enough yet.

I only saw BatB once. Not even on Broadway, but in a crappy Dutch production which sucked so much I should spare you all the rant because it would make you all very upset and I don't need your pity. XD Whaha.

Faith is so into BatB (the musical), that she has been recognised in that matter by other BatB fans. Nikki, a girl from Portugal, even composed a song for her. (Basically about Lumi and Babs, I believe, but for her! Come on! Who here has ever had a song composed for them?!) (Pretty neat song too.) With Faith's birthday a few days back, she got more birthday wishes than 98% of the board members. She got drawings and birthday cards and such. Even LathronAniron, only one of the coolest BatB fanartists around, drew her a Babette.
She got all that, because she deserves it all.
She gives the most detailed and beautiful show reports. For every single show she's been too. She makes me and others laugh with the on-stage jokes between Lumi and Cogs, or between Gaston and Belle, just by describing it to those fans that are unfortunate enough to go and see the musical themselves.

And whenever anyone else goes to see the musical, in a school production, or in the crappy dutch production like the one I saw, and writes about it, she is the first to reply to such a post. She'll ask her own questions about it and show genuine interest. She keeps up with everybody's news. She knows her stuff.

Milez. I don't know you, dude. I really don't. But I've seen Faith everywhere. On DeviantArt, on Livejournal, on Fanfiction.net and on Bittersweet and Strange, a Beauty and the Beast fanforum. She has made her reputation online. I'm from Belgium and I know her. I admire her. Okay, I don't want to suck up too much because usually that's not in my nature. But if anyone deserves the title of "biggest BatB fan", I think it's Faith.

And thanks all for reading the rant. XD I will shut up now.
MiLeZ

I KNEW that was coming, LumBabs!

*cracks nuckles*

I'll repeat to 2 above and continue.

-I have seen the show (from audience and backstage) around 300 times.
-Was "Chip" in the 3rd National Tour http://imdb.com/name/nm0576059/
-Traveled from Lexington, KY (my home) to NYC to see it before it closed in July
-I know the Choreography, Lyrics, and Script to do any role from the show
-I know the "clink-line" from Gaston
-I know the ins and outs and where to find the "Hidden Mickeys" in the show
-I could contact the original director (Rob Roth) and book writer (Linda Woolverton) and they would know me by first name
-I have the real script, the floor tape from our rehearsals in NYC, and the "rain effect" film
-I have played Chip, Lefou, Gaston and the Stunt Beast
-Cried on July, 29th 2007 (why did I admit that???)

Ok, I think I've covered most of it. LumBabs, maybe we should change the poll to "Who is the most embarrasing?" haha!

Round 2?

Another thought...
What would happen if both of our passions for B&B came together? We took both of our reputations and resources and pulled them together? Something quite cool I would say.

And welcome to the forum! I hope you enjoy it! Smile
CartoonJessie

Haha, thank you for the warm welcome. ^^

It's quite impressive that you know everything by heart and have played so many parts and have things from the set and stuff. Yet still, as impressive as that is, I still think Faith is the bigger fan. Please don't hold that against me. There are many different sorts of dedication.

You have an enormous dedication to the show, Miles, being in so many shows and knowing so much about it. But still, I think that Faith has the biggest dedication to her fellow fans. She is more well-known online and what she has achieved is pretty impressive too. To be able to just get contacts with people working at BatB without actualy being in the show is a lot harder than knowing people in the show when they're just your colleagues.

No, to me, Faith is still the authority. The show reports she's typed up are amazing. Some of them will keep you reading for about half an hour. Can't imagine how much time she put in writing them for her fellow fans. There are different sort of dedications, but I've felt and seen Faith's dedication to the fandom many many many times. Not yours Miles. Sorry.
Sweeney Hyde

This is potentially the oddest/most uncomfortable "serious" thread I have ever come across.
mastachen

I think the one that he created in the social club is.
MiLeZ

Because of CartoonJessie, I think I will go on and award LumBabs the title. I give up Smile

LumBabs, please, if you will, send me articles and stuff you have written. I would love to read them!
LumBabsFan

Long as we can switch it to PM.
musikal_geek

LumBabs wins.

Because I said so.

Bye!

There are hidden mickeys in the show? Really? Where?
musikal_geek

^I believe she's referring to the movie, but I could be wrong.
EponineMNFF

I think this thread was taken a bit too seriously.

It was fun.

You guys are such huge fans! That's awesome!
MiLeZ

I was referring to the show that was on Broadway. And I'm a He if you were referring to me Smile

ANYWAY! Yes, there are a lot of hidden Mickeys in the show. The common pattern on the castle set pieces and on Mrs. Potts costume and the plates edges look like hearts...and that's what they are supposed to be at the end of the day, but they are actually loose representations of Mickey.

Also, the belt buckle Chip wears when he is human again is a hidden Mickey.

The coolest one to me is in "Gaston". Gaston sings "I use antlers in all of my decorating...." and as he sings this the ensemble holds their two mugs on the top of their heads (where you can see the bottoms of the mugs) and it resembles Mickey too. The mugs being his ears.

Kinda cool. We all have a round table discussion with Linda Woolverton where she told us a lot of the hidden things in the movie.
wicked_boy

MiLeZ, most of your arguements about why you are the biggest fan are because you were actually in the show.

If your doing a huge national tour of a show for months, of course you're gonna know all the moves, have the script, know the director etc.
Catherine

I don't know who is the biggest fan.

But "Faith" is such a lovely name! I just wanted to say how much i like it.

Ahem. Carry on.
LumBabsFan

Thank you, Catherine, my mom chose well Laughing
MiLeZ

Faith, did you get my PM?

To be fair, he said in his original post that his intent was to create a light-hearted thread. I don't see why people are getting so worked up over this. It's just some innocent fun for MileZ and LumBabsFan.
stlgurl702

Point taken, but this isn't the first time he's done it.
MiLeZ

C'mon! I wasn't stirring up drama here! Please leave me alone!

Let's speed this up:

Sweeney, you need to stop to. If you have a problem with the thread, contact me via PM.

I have requested via PM that this thread be closed. Sorry that some of you fun-suckers can let alone.

Did I say I had a problem with you?

No.

I have several problems with this thread which has gotten extremely out of hand.

It would probably be in everyone's intrest, especially you MiLeZ, to stop posting in this thread.

I think we can all say that MileZ or whatever is the biggest fan of one thing...

...starting drama.
