merry go round playhouse...

I was just wondering if anyone has auditioned for them in the past? How do they run their auditions? Is the dance audition hard? and if you made a show how were they to work with?

thanks for the help!
Bianca.

Wow. I was JUST looking in to going to this audition.
It's a very professional company, and I'd expect a very difficult dance audition, especially with Millie in the season. Friends of mine have loved working with them in the past, and I'm very disappointed that I'm missing out this time around. From what I've read, it seems the AEA members are first, and by appointment, and everyone else is as time allows on a first come first serve.
Expect to wait around. The Audition will probably be huge.

I shouldnt be worried about the dance audition, but for some reason I am.

Hey,

Although this is about a week and a half too late, I thought I'd share some insight. I'm 16 and went to the audition with a bunch of my friends, just to see what it was like, get some experience, and maybe be considered for Peter Pan (as a Lost Boy or something), and it was an AWESOME experience. There were probably 150-200 people there throughout the day (unless I'm exaggerating, I don't know, that hallway was really tiny and it seemed CRAMMED!), and I had to wait just about 3 hours to even see the judges and sing for them. I sang the ending to "If I Can't Love Her", and reluctantly, I was asked to stay to dance. This terrified me, but I was still excited. Unfortunately however, all of my friends but 2 were asked to leave not because they weren't talented, in fact quite the opposite, they were EXTREMELY talented, but too old for Wendy in Peter Pan, and too young for anything in Millie.

So my 2 friends and I waited for about another hour or two just to get in and dance, and let me tell you, it was THE HARDEST DANCE I've ever been taught, and it was the quickest thing I've ever had to learn as well. It was taught in about 5 minutes, and it was a good minute and a half thing mind you! Anyways, out of 6-7 people asked to stay (by the way, there were around 15-20 of us in the dance audition, and they were ALL seniors in high school, in college or older besides my friends and me), and one of my friends and I (who was a guy, my age) were asked to stay to sing more. So another hour pursued (they took 3 of the guys in for INTENSE tap stuff), and we sang again. Alas, at the end, Mr. Sales, (the director), told us (my friend and I), we needed more dance experience, and to come back next year, but otherwise we were great.

All in all, it was an AMAZING experience, and I'm happy to have done it! Hope this gave some insight. If you want more info, feel free to ask!
