I just heard about the 1983 show Merlin. Unfortunately I wasnt born yet to see it! I am a big supporter of the idea that musical plots should step outside of reality or the likely, and I think I would have enjoyed this show. It failed due to bad acting by Henning and some technical problems. Here is a clip with star CHITA RIVERA! I love the spectical aspects:
