Merchandise

Hello

I am going to see WICKED at the end of September ( Applause Very Happy Applause ) and I am wondering what there is to buy and approximately how much everything is (t-shirts, programs etc). I am working my @$$ off so that I can get some stuff, because I am assuming it's not the cheapest, seeing as shows that come to Edmonton on tour have t-shirts that range from $40 - $80! Shocked Thanks in advance for your help!

PS if you know of any websites that have all of this lovely information, that would be appreciated, too!

All the prices on their are the same as at the show.

They occasionally have sales. I bought a Bombay Dreams shirt for about $2. The trouble is, S & H can be a pain, so it's worth it if you have friends who want to pool their money.

Ooh, thanks a lot!

Dang, the Wicked stuff is expensive!

Tell me about it. On my last trip to NYC, I had to get the necklace. $50, but I love it.

Same here. It is pretty though. On another note, I love the little green monkeys.

I limited myself to a souvenir program....$20. Shocked That's the most I've ever paid for a program. I saw other people buying $70 and $90 worth of merchandise. Wicked is making a killing.

I wonder how much money gets spent per night...tickets included. That is a $#!T load of money!!

wow programs are $20!!

Souvenir Programs for Mamma Mia! and The Phantom of the Opera were only $10 and I think The Lion King was $15. Does it have to do with how long the show has been running or how popular it is?

I'd definately get a souvenir program and a poster! Then, if you have more money you wish to spend, go from there.

I would like some to remember Wicked, I'm going in Aug, but I don't want to be bankrupt after the show Confused

Not neccessarily. They do it because they can. Also, production values may be involved -- I've never seen the brochure for The Lion King, but are there a lot of die-cuts? Is there embossing? They may also use a more expensive paper or more pages than most brochures.

When I first saw Les Miz over 11 years ago, the brochures were $8. They're now $10. I'm pretty sure Phantom had the same pricing scale.

For both CHICAGO and MAMMA MIA! on tour they were $15 -- an alright price for me.

I was kind of disappointed in the CHICAGO one, though. It was only pictures and "historical CHICAGO events" whereas the MAMMA MIA! one had a lot of information on the show, as well as pictures and info on the different casts.

Maybe touring sovenir programs are more expensive then.

The only show that my family spent a lot of money on was when my mom went to see Phantom of the Opera--Original Broadway Cast. She spent tons of money on programs and such. Generally, we buy the souvenir program and then if I like the show, I get a T-shirt. If I REALLY like the show, I get a sweatshirt.

I just went to the show last weekend. I bought the souvenir necklace, which cost me almost all the souvenir money I brought.

If anyone else is thinking of getting it at the theatre, look at it first. I bought mine, and came in a little felt bag. I didn't open it until I got home (hundereds of miles away). It had some very slight damage to it.

Even though the website sells the same merch, they're not the same company that's at the theatre. I've had contact the theatre and they're being very helpful at getting an exchange, but it would have been so much easier if I had looked at it when I paid for it. d'oh!

Summary, if you buy at the theatre, look at it (whatever you buy) carefully before you get too far away.
Etoile

Your lucky, the theatre I go to never sells merchandise. In all the broadway shows I've seen there they have literally sold nothing (except $8 muffins and such)(the Minnesota Ordway, if anyone has been there.) But I'm seeing Wicked at a different theatre tomorrow so hopefully they'll be selling merchandise.
