Marni Raab as Christine?Im just wondering what peoples thoughts are on her...i saw her last year in Toronto, and to tell the truth...i was so disappointed. I really REALLy didn't like her voice. The other cast members were amazing though...especcially Cudia.
Have they replaced Raab on tour now?

I saw her back in 2003 when she was Lisa Vroman's alternate and thought she was delightful, although the reviews since have run the gamut.

Yeah, the review I read in the Globe and Mail (Toronto paper) said Raab was basically a Sarah Brightman clone-great singer, but can't act to save her life. Personally, I saw her alternate, Sarah Lawrence, so I can't comment on Marni. Lawrence, however was decent, perhaps a little breathy on Think Of Me, and she didn't wow me until the grave yard scene...and my sister said the exact same thing, so there must be something to it.

I would've called Raab's acting more low-key, but not to say she couldn't act. I think I saw her 4 or 5 times when the tour came back to San Francisco, and although her acting wasn't exceptional, I never had an issue with it.

I saw the tour in Chicago about a week and a half ago. Sara Jean Ford was Christine and I believe Laurence (sp?) was her understudy. Anyway, Sara Jean Ford did a fabulous job, she really connected w/ Christine's emotions and her singing was fanastic. In my opinion she is one of the best Christine's.

Sarah Lawrence is the alternate, I think, not the understudy.
I've heard many rave reviews about Sara Jean Ford, so I'd love to see her in the role. She was Christine understudy for a short while in the Broadway production, and the people at the Majestic was sad to see her leave. But being principal in the US tour sounds a lot more fun than understudy on Broadway.
As for Marni Raab - I've never seen her live, so I really cannot help you there.

I've seen Sara Jean Ford and Marni Rabb. I though Marni was excellent but Sara was better. She had a very beautiful and powerful voice.
