Male Lead Player

Our school is considering this for my senior musical. And.. I love the show. Seen it 3 times now. But I'm torn. I'm a High Baritone-Tenor 2.

Which is better for the range.. Pippin? Or the Lead Player?

To be honest, if I remember from the vocal score, both are more Tenor...I think the highest the leading player goes to is the second octave F# after middle C (could be wrong) and Pippin goes up to a G/A above the staff (so the second octave after middle C).
Monsieur D'Arque

The leading player goes up ton an A, with an optional C on some of Ben Vereen's riffs.

From memory I believe Pippin is a higher singing role (and pretty taxing vocally - nine solo songs and some big high Broadway belting required in some of them, especially Extraordinary). I think the decision depends more on your dancing ability, as the LP has to be someone who is a brilliant dancer while this is less essential for Pippin.
