Makeup ordering?

Hello! I was just cast in our local production of ITW as Rapunzel. I'd like to order our company some stage makeup as it seems for the past few years, what we've had is a bit of a mess.

The thing is, I'd like to make sure I'm doing it right, and have enough. I have no idea what to order. I'd like to get kits of some sort that include colors for all skin types.

Is there anyone out there that can point me in the right direction?
Hanniel!

First off, congrats on your part! Very Happy

Now, I'm only a senior in high school, so my knowledge is more limited than some, but I'll tell you what I know.

My school director is very professional, and we have only ever used Ben Nye products. As far as I know, they're regarded as the best, if you want to go all out. You can find them at http://www.bennye.com/. They carry, literally, everything. They have kits/products for fantasy, wounds, aging, and every kind of basic make-up you can imagine.

Once I branched out into local theatre, I decided I wanted to get a basic kit for myself. You do have to order from a distributor, but when you request a catalogue (free!) from the site it should include a list of local places that carry their products. I just found a basic, nautral kit in the catalogue and called the closest distributor to order it. I've had it for almost a year and I absolutely love it. I don't remember the exact price, but it was't terribly expensive, and I think it was a good investment.

Hope I helped a little! Best of luck with your production.

The big Ben Nye kits are pretty good. They're usually around $50 and you can buy them in several different skin tones.

But each kit comes with several difference foundation colors within that skin tone. For my school we usually buy two, the fair/light one, and then a darker olive one, because the majority of our actors are either really white or are hispanic. So within each kit there is usually a foundation that fits each person.

The kits also come with powder, a lip palate, eyeliner, etc etc.
