Madame de la Grande Bouche

Ok, I was just cast as madame de la grande bouche and Mrs. Potts understudy...

How big of a role is madame de la grande bouche? I know she's a former opera diva turned into a wardrobe but other then that what kind of character is she?

Thanks

First off, Madame rocks!
Madame is an over-the-top, confident, "ta-da!" kind of girl. She constantly talks about when she performed in the Royal Opera - "the king himself was there!" She's a great chance for comedy. You can do a loud, operatic voice with an accent - a lot of people make her Italian. You totally get the chance to steal the show. Getting more applause than Belle is thrilling!

My good friend Jenna is performing as Madame today and tomorrow, and she is fabulous! One great thing that she does is that she sings some of her lines instead of speaking them. It gives Madame some true character, I think, Some examples of the lines she would sing are:

"Oh dear, oh dear!"

"...at the Royal Opera"

It not a big role, but shes still an amazing role!

stlgurl? Bekah?from MTA?

She's a fun part, my friend played her. She gets big elaborate costumes and she's that over the top, dramatic type.

You're the actor...That's your job. Smile

^ too true!

I'd say not so much crazy as dramatic.

Yes, I agree ConverseSneaker, Madame is very dramatic. She is upset because she fears that her preformances at the Opera have been forgotten. She dwells on the past and still thinks she is a big star even though her career ended some ten years ago. Madame is an amazing character to play, and you might just wind up stealing the show!

P.S.- "Madame Bouche" in french means Mrs. Big Mouth!

I hope this helped!!!

KariJayne from MTA played her and she was fantastic. The best part of the show IMO. She'd probably be happy to give you advice. You should IM her.

P.S. We miss you and ConverseSneaker at MTA Crying or Very sad

Lady of the Big mouth

Madame is a great part, not because she has quite a few lines but because she is such a stage stealer :]

have fun
