Having seen her perform and knowing her long running association with the show Blood Brothers and having also seen her in Footloose - The Musical, I think that Lyn Paul formerly of The New Seekers fame, would fit in perfectly as the role of Mama Morten.

She taught the world to sing with the New Seekers in the 70's, and has performed in Blood Brothers for over 10 years now as Mrs Johnstone. Her other West End credits include; Footloose - The Musical and the Boy George musical, Taboo. She also has alot of television acting under her belt now, having played parts in Emmerdale and most recently in Holby City.

Having witnessed her astonishing performances for myself, and read countless amazed reviews, I just think she would fit in well with this role. If people agree please post a comment!! Also if you have any other suggestions feel free to write them, but do look in to Lyn Paul, I think she would be great!
