Looking for interesting Audition stories

Hi,

We're doing an article on auditions and are looking for interesting and true stories. Anyone willing to share experiences, both great and not-so great auditions...can be anonymous? Thanks...

Are you looking for US only or also UK/West End audition stories?

Hmmm...well before I knew anything about auditioning I used Good Morning Baltimore to audition for Oliver, which was bad, but not that great of a story.

I also got violently ill on the day I was scheduled to audition for a show, so I had to go the next day, but that's not that great either...

And that's all I got really. It's not that great, but it's...something...

I attended a cattle call once, but the director, who appeared only as a mysterious disembodied voice, put me through a painful self-analysis process to see why I performed and how well I held up under pressure.

I made ensemble.
