London's Janet!!!

Not much buzz about London's Drowsy...

Summer Strallen plays Janet in this production and I wonder if any of those who'd seen it think Strallen is at par with Sutton Foster.
Jenko

I might be going to see it on monday.
I'll let you know.
sherwills

yes pls. Very Happy

Saw the show last night and had a great time.

Summer Strallen as Janet is wonderful but as I expected, Sutton Foster has a better singing voice if to be compared. This is not to say that Strallen's performance is not good. Her voice is just so different and it's quite an unusual departure for those who are so used to hearing Foster from the cast recording.

I also enjoyed Elaine Paige's performance. She was funny and her comedic timing couldn't be more perfect.

I'm so happy to see Bob Martin originating the role in the West End staging as I can't imagine anyone else playing the Man In Chair role.

She's very, very bendy.

What are the vocal differences between Sutton and her?

I want to see Elaine in that role SO badly
>>such an excellent role for her

I love Sutton's voice in Thouroghly (sp?) Modern Mille, but to be honest, I saw Summer live, and from Sutton on the Cd...I thought Summer was better, but I'm sure that Sutton did a great job too.

Elaine was great...i loved her. That whole cast was great, it's a shame they canceled the soundtrack to it.

Shocked Please don't get Salome started on her I-Hate-Elaine Paige rant. It's almost as bad as her Cheno-The-Evil-Republican rant or her I-Hate-Wicked rant. You really don't want to go there. Silenced
Salome

Elaine is only famous because she ---- tim rice.

every role she played someone else played better. her actiong is bad and her singing voice is nasal and screechy.

Great...here we go again (blasts MP3 player to drown out Salome's rant)

If Paige was really an untalented hag, then her career wouldn't have lasted this long-she would have been booed off stage a long time ago.

And once again, your opinion is not law. People do like Elaine Paige, don't crusify them for that...
Salome

She is crap. ask anyone with taste in myusical theatre. ciaron could give you as many reasons as me. try looking up Paige's reviews from Frank Rich and Clive Barnes too.
TylerMcMahon

I will have to agree.
I have seen a lot of clips of her on YouTube and have yet to be impressed
Mistress

Then why on earth did she make me ball my eyes out when I first heard her sing memory?...Do I just have crappy taste in performers or something... Confused

And why, Salome, does a person with "taste in musical theatre" have abide by your, or anyone's tastes? I'm sure someone with "taste" can like Waicked as well as Sweeney Todd or My Fair Lady, or whatever you think is "good" theatre, just as someone else with "taste" can hate Sweeney or My Fair Lady, or whatnot...I find it irratating that you state your opinion as though it were fact...though I guess we're all guilty of that at one one point or another in our lives, but it's stiil annoying as hell...I'm gonna go and cool off befioee I break something.
