London RevivalSorry if this is old news, but I just saw at CNN that Evita will be revived on the West End. It will be directed by Michael Grandage and according to ALW, it is going to be more Latin than the original. I wonder what that means? Maybe the music will have more of a Latin sound? I was reluctant to see Evita at first because quite frankly, I don't particulary like Latin music. But at most, Evita's music has only a slight Latin sound. It could stand with a little more perhaps but I hope they don't take it too far. I'd like it if they added back "The Lady's Got Potential" and even "You Must Love Me" from the film but neither sound very "Latin". If the new show uses primarily Mariachi Players as its orchestra... |

Then it'll be a very Sondheim "Pacific Overtures"-ish move, and a potential hit, with the way "Bombay Dreams" went down in London. Foreign is in.

I know this is a bit late but I have only just joined the forum. They are adding "You must love me" from the film to the stage show.
