So people, what little things do you all do to help the day go by? We all have those horrid days, so let's share some ideas!

Mine:

- Each day I write out a quote that inspires me, for example, yesterday's was a lyric from "13", the day before was a quote from Hamlet, I make some quotes up myself, famous people's quote etc... And then I stick it into this little scrap book, so by the end of the academic year, I'll have a quote from every day to help me get by!

- Also, Tuesday's are the worst days of the week for my class (double english, statistic math, physics!) so we've started to celebrate tuesdays by going around saying "Happy Tuesday" or "Merry Tuesday" or whatnot to each other, just to brighten up the day! It's really helped and puts a smile on people's faces.

- More recently, I've started to pack something unusual / nice in my bag to eat at school... Something I can look forward to each day. Like yesterday was ice green lemon and honey tea (that I had never tried before), today was a brownie chocolate chip muffin, tomorrow's will be a cookie galaxy... And I don't always treat myself with unhealthy stuff: last week I had a mini sushi as a snack during the day. Or an exotic fruit salad etc...

I complain.

I organise my room.
I do washing.
I avoid doing washing.

My personal cures for bad days include:
- Large quantities of tea
- Long showers or baths
- Curling up with a Neal Stephenson or Alexandre Dumas novel--anything that's really long, not too heavy but not outright trashy, and full of explosions and ridiculous plot devices
- Dragging the most extravagant clothes out of my closet and getting all gothed up for no reason in particular

As for long boring days... those are the days I decide it would be awesomesauce to translate all the French lyrics to Les Mis, or make a new website, or make a database out of my bootleg list so I can do advanced searches on it and sort it by different criteria. Not all of these projects come to anything, but it helps kill a boring afternoon.

Also, long boring classes are infinitely improved by mentally adding "...as the actress said to the vicar" to the ends of the professor's sentences.

Walk around my house in a Snuggie and sing obnoxious high Eb's.

In school, which seems to be moving slower and slower these days, I just go on MdN. All day. And twitter. And still sing obnoxious high Eb's... which don't go over too well unless I'm in one of my 3 choir classes throughout the day.

I just sing.

(PS- Have any of you ever sang the song I Have Had Singing? That was an obnoxiously phrased question, but c'est la vie.)

Write fiction while sitting in said coffee house, because downtown is inspirational.
