Your production looks awesome! Thanks for posting Very Happy Applause
norayouadora

Wow! That does look like an excellent production, especially for a high school. Well done. Very Happy

Which role did you play, if any?
music is my life!!!

thanks for posting! Very Happy Very Happy

that production of little shop looks fab!

well done, you! Applause

Monsieur D'Arque

BTW, did your production contain the Bill Murray scene? I saw the photos with the bum in the dentist's chair, and wondered if that was what you were doing. I know it's technically illegal, but that scene is FUNNY!

Candy bar!
what_the_heck013

You had SIX doo-wop girls and a female Mushnik? Well, your set is cool (especially the revolve) and your plants were tight.
BEaSTARandSINGlove

wow this looks great! i love the doo-wop girl's costumes!
jellyfish4014

Hey,
Thanks for all the input. We put the show up in about 45 days. It was fun! I was the stage manager. I am not much of an actor. Making Mushnik female was really fun. The girl was hilarious. I thought the beginning of the dentist scene was in the script. I will go take another look. But, we closed today, so I guess it does not matter now.
Thanks for everything.
If you follow the instructions I put up, you can see our past two shows, Beauty and the Beast and Camelot. Now it about a week and a half we are starting the Wizard of Oz, to go up in April.
Keep posting!
Salome

your audrey looks great,as do the doo wop gals..the set is wonderful..but ugh..a female Mushnik just kills it all.
phantomphan85

It looks really good.
jellyfish4014

In comment about a female Mushnik...
...It may seem bad, but you have not seen her act. She was so awesome. And I personally felt more connected with a female Mushnik. I saw a male Mushnik at another production, and it was really bad. To me you could understand her better and she was hilarious. I wish you could see her. But, we all have our own opinions. Thanks for the compliment on Audrey and the do-waps. Orginally, we had 8 do-waps, but two of the dropped out. I was so happy when we went down to six. Plus, it made costuming so much easier. My school did the play 10 years ago, and it had six do-waps. So now we had enough costumes.
Thanks!
Salome

I'm not doubting her talent as an actress. just the inanity of your director giving a role like mushnik a sex change. it should never be done in shows to begin with..but especilly when its such a masculine role nad has the whole father/son situation going one.

if she was such a wonderful actress the director should have picked a show with more strong female roles.
jellyfish4014

I understand what you are saying. But, the character CAN work as a female. the whole mother/son relationship was so much funnier with a female.
I am not trying to start something, just trying to let you underestand where I am coming from. And I know you are doing the same with me. Besides, it is good to start a discussion about how everyone does everthing differently.
Thanks.
Salome

Honestly...the role has no business being a female. trust me.

I think ive been in theatre a tad longer than you.
I'm not starting an argument..just pointing out why it doesnt work. And I have seen a high scxhool version of the show with a girl as Mushnik in the past.I know the script,i've seen 3 productions of the show including the recent broadway revival.
a mother/son relatrionship doesnt make sense. the mushnik lines are wreitten for a man. even judi dench couldnt make a female mushnik work.
jellyfish4014

Ok, well thanks for everything. Like I said, I understand where you are coming from. Just because you know the script doesn't mean that a female can't play the role. Thanks for being honest , I appriciate it. I guess we can move on now, lol. Arrow
Salome

now i get it..you have a crush on the girl who played mushnik Wink
jellyfish4014

Oh...yea......no, we are just really good friends.
MademoiselleMusicals

Just saw this post.

Looks amazing!!!

I'm trying to make my amateur soceity do Little Shop next year!
jellyfish4014

Thank you! The play was a lot of fun to do. If you follow that same process, you can look at pictures from The Wizard of Oz and Camelot. This fall we are doing High School Musical and we are looking at Chicago for our spring show. Thanks for looking and I hope you can get your group to do the show.
MademoiselleMusicals

Already have lol

I did The Wizard of Oz back in 2003 and had such fun!

Good luck for HSM - my ex drama group are doing that this July!
