Little Red Riding Hood and some general questions

Hi! My friend Alex told me about this site because I am about to audition for my first non-school show. Previously I've been involved in shows at my local high school from about third grade (where I played Molly in Annie) to eight grade (I was Bet in Oliver!).
Now I'm auditioning for Into The Woods at a community theater. The only role I would be able to be cast as is Little Red, and as far as I know I only have one other person I'm competing against. For the audition we have to sing a song and we have to read a monologue. As far as songs go I was considering either singing I Know Things Now, which they say they'll accept, or singing something like that Veruca song from Charlie and the Chocolate Factory. Unfortunately I'm unsure where I would acquire the sheet music for that song. Any other suggestions would be welcome. I have a pretty wide range so I don't think that would be a problem.
However, I am completely stuck as far as monologues go. The acting teacher at my school has a lot of teen books with monologues but I can't find something that fits me and is sort of young/comedic. Mostly I just find monologues I would never read or just sound really fake. Hopefully some one can suggest to me something I can really get into.
Also, I'm wondering whether or not the director would ask me to throw a tantrum thing during the audition just to see if I could do it. I would have no trouble doing this, in fact I'm pretty good at it. Razz Should I mention that under special skills in my resume?
Finally, we need to have a resume and head shot. My friend is obsessed with photography and has a pretty professional (?) camera. If she took a picture of me and I printed it out on the photo paper is that alright? And how big should a head shot be?
If you have gotten down to this point in my post, thanks for reading it all as i know I can sometimes go off into my own little typing world. Any other advice you can give me would certainly be helpful.

For the monologue, if you're allowed to do one from a musical I'd do the one Sally does in You're a Good Man Charlie Brown about the coat hanger sculpture, It could be really good to use for Little Red since both characters are the young and spunky type.

You can find the monologe here: http://www.whysanity.net/monos/charliebrown.html

wow i didn't even think about that but actually that would work almost perfectly and i already have it memorized, thanks! wow i'm so happy because that will definitely work.

do you think i should do the song from the show? or does that jeopardized my chances if i do it differently from what they want?

Are you auditioning for SRYT???????!!!!

and to reply about doing a song from the show, usually i find to never sing a song from the show because it tells the directors that you think you are the best one for the part and i'm sure you are very good but unfortunately sometimes and usually there are people better than you. i'd see if you could find another sondheim-ish song like the one you want to sing but make sure the pianist can play it. or just find a very annoying song that you think would work.

not to sound ignorant, but was is SRYT?

It's just I don't know what else I'd sing. And the auditions are so close. And they say like you may sing a song from the show if you are auditioning for a specific part. Which I am because the whole show is adults so I could only be little red.

If they say it's fine to sing a song from the show, its ok to sing a song from the show. Its not going to make it look like you think you're the best person for the part, and if you perform it well it can really increase your chances of getting the part. I've lost parts to people who've sung songs from the show several times even though I didn't , so you never know. If you don't have any other songs don't worry about! They can't count anything against you since they've said its perfectly fine Smile

thanks, auditions are in a week and a half. i'll keep you guys posted.
