Little Red Help/AdviceHi everyone!
The community youth theatre workshop I'm going to this summer is doing into the woods and thanks to you guys, i've decided that I'm going to try out for Little Red. I just finished up with everything to do with my last show on thursday. (it was a high school show and we performed on a tony like award show, and we ended up winning best overall production of a musical!)
Okay so what I need help with now is what song I should sing at my audition.
I was concidering "My New Philosophy" but I'm not quite sure I'll be able to handle it. I'm a soprano and while I've been singing for a little while, I never actually knew how to sing. I just recently got a voice teacher. Is there any other suggestions?
Also, does anyone have any suggestions on how to act for little red?
Videos would be helpful if you guys have any.
Thank you so so so so so much.

Little Red is more of an alto/mezzo soprano role than soprano.

Little red always struck me as very obnoxious and greedy. She's also dishnoest, the way she steals buns from the Baker and his Wife. She's pretty much an annoying little kid I wouldn't want to have to deal with.

My new Philosophy is considered the song for Little Red auditions, so you picked the right one, but chances are that one might be over done at your audition. I would personally suggest I Want it Now from Charlie and the Chocolate Factory(the old one), but go ahead with your choice if you want.
Little Red......she's bratty, snobby, greedy, sassy, and rather spolied. She throws tantrums if she doesn't get her way, she shows off her knife and cape and taunts Jack, and she steals food from the Baker. But you also have to remember that she is a little girl. She trusts the wolf because she is really naive and during Act 2, when she loses her family, that's a big moment for her.

Thanks for your help.
I'll look into the Charlie and Chocolate Factory song. It sounds like a good song.
