LINDA EDER is/was the best Lucy Harris to walk the planet.Who else feels the same?!?! hahaha
Then again... I have been in love with Linda since I was like, 11 so I guess I'm a little bias..... But still!
Is she not amazing, or what?

You're right. She is not amazing.

you don't like her? REALLY!!!

Yes, I didn't. I thought her vocal presentation and breathing is just awful. She's a Striesand-wanna-be, and in the theatre business, you need to be different to be good.
BTW... it says in your avatar you were the Mama Bear in Into the Woods. I've seen ITW several times and have been in it once, but I didn't know that part even existed...

hahaha my director is stupid and toght that adding characters into the finales would be good.... no it was just rediculous.
And In a way... I just see Linda Eder as a vocalist instead of a Broadway star... like... am I making sense?

Striesand-wanna-be. Couldn't have worded it better. Sorry. both Kate Shindle and Coleen Sexton are better. Maybe Linda is better than Kate vocally, but come on! You need to be able to act and it also helps that kate and colleen are extremely hot.

I like her voice. I've never seen her act, but her accent on the Jekyll & Hyde recording with Anthony Warlow is embarrassingly bad.

Linda Eder is the single worst actress Ive ever seen on Broadway. Worse even than Sarah Brightman.
and her vocal stylings are over done.
Embarassing.
Sexton is a wonderful actress and singer. She made a poorly written role worth watching.

Salome. as much as I like jekyll and hyde, I feel the same when I comes to Wicked which I don't like. Coleen Sexton was a great Elphaba.

I love both Jekyll & Hyde and Wicked.
I saw J&H in the UK with Paul Nicholas playing the Dr. His voice is not great but what an actor, also I have the Hasselhof film which I really like, but neither of these have the "Bring on the men" song in it which I believe Linda Eder sings. I have never seen her act but I really like that song.
Does any one know why it is not in either version I have seen?

they changed the song to "Good and Evil" which is even worse.

the most unforgivable sin was changing I need to know to lost in the darkness then adding it back in to the MTI version a major second lower and missing a verse.

I agree!
Also.... can someone please explain the change of the Name Emma from Lisa?

Ummm . . . Emma sounds more British? Or, the name Lisa is too close to the name Lucy?

I think the whole Lucy/Lisa thing was too hit-you-over-the-head symbolic, so that's why they changed it. Unfortunately, they didn't really seem to have taken any more of the annoyingly obvious symbolism out.

I love Linda's voice but I agree... she's not suited for Lucy.
I've never seen her acting on stage, but she disappointed me very deeply in the CW recording.
I didn't like even Kate... I've only heard her on Resurrection ( has she played Lucy other times??? )... and she's worse than Linda. Not for her voice, I just don't like that kind of voice for Lucy...
Coleen is a great actress and singer, I liked her.
But I've not seen yet an actress who has played Lucy as she should be played...

Linda Eder is the worst actress i ever saw in a broadway show. she isnt even suited for high school theatre.

I've seen her acting only on a pair of Youtube video.
The press reel of DG and ANL...

yeah, i would have to say that Coleen is my fav. lucy ever!!
i did see a D.G. video with Linda and Robert and it was..... unusual..... to say the least..

I really like Coleen as Lucy.
Linda is a good singer, but her voice is hurt by her awful acting--it gets really annoying after a while
unfortunately, my voice teacher loves Eder.

Her voice: a 7.
Her technique: a 2.
Her acting: -3.
I think part of what gives her the upperhand in some peoples' minds is "Bring On The Men," which is--in my opinion--a much better song than "Good and Evil."
I always thought they changed the name to Emma because Lisa and Lucy sound alike.

1) I don't care for Eder as a singer or an actress. She can hit high notes, yes, but she tends to lose some of the consonants in the process.
2) In comparing the Warlow version to the OBC recording, there some changes that I like, such as the finale, the added harmonies in "Your Work, And Nothing More", and using the second half of "Alive!" to end Act 1;
and changes that I absolutely despise. These include the replacing of "Bring on the Men" with " Good 'N Evil", the big change in plot (that is, Jekyll's motivation throughout his journey being his father, instead of a mere obsession) which pushes it even further from Stevenson's original story, and subsequently the replacing of "I Need To Know" (great song) with "Lost in the Darkness" (meh)

I agree 100%
Except I prefer Alive being one big song and then having a little reprise of "I feel I'll live on forever" at the end of Act 1 ending the song with the High A that only Rob Evan, Anthony Warlow, and David Hasselhoff are man enough to do. Though Hasselhoff sucked at everything else, I kinda liked his Alive Reprise. Did Bach do the high A?

saw that clip too, I didn't like her acting much, it seemed very awkward. I think she can sing really well though, except for her loss of consonants here and there.
However, I love listening to Christiane Noll's voice, more than Eder, she sounds great!
