Let me know...

I have been wanting to go see Mama Mia for the longest time, but haven't had the chance. Please, if you saw the play help me out by letting me know what you thought of it. I just want to know if it really is all that it's cracked up to be. I mean, I realize that the songs are Abba classics (and who doesn't love Abba?), but I just want to make sure that I am not wasting my hard earned money.

Thank you in advance Smile

^lol I luv you.

Anyhoo, MAMMA MIA! was the best thing that I have ever seen onstage. It was such a fun night. I think it's best to see it with a group of people...I don't know why....I guess it's just a good show for a group of people to see... Confused . But if you like ABBA, there's a very good chance that you will love the show!

I personally loved Mamma Mia! It is a very fun show to watch. At the end, everyone gets up and dances. It was especially fun because I knew most of the words to the songs. It is very ABBA, so if you enjoy them, you should love the show. However, if you are more of an Andrew Lloyd Webber fan or prefer earlier musicals, you probably won't enjoy it as much.

I really enjoyed this show, but I felt that the plot was weak, especially in Act II. Act I was silly and upbeat, but then, in Act II, they tried to force the dramatic side of the story which just didn't seem right to me. Maybe I just didn't see the rise of the characters (mostly Donna) to such dramatic feelings, but it really seemed forced. This was most apparent during "The Winner Takes It All". It was an incredible performance by the actress playing Donna and I love the song. but the drama of the moment seemed totally out of place. (I'm trying to make what I mean clear, so I hope this makes sense to someone other than myself!) Don't get me wrong! Mamma Mia is a great show and you definatley should go see it! It'd be well worth spending your money to see such a fun show!
