I would pick LSOH since I feel that the show in general is much more fun and high-energy, despite it's dark morals. *shrug*
I'd jump at the chance to do either.

Lol my music director's two most favorite musicals are little shop and les mis. I'd pick Little Shop. Les mis is soo grand, but little shop is sooo charming and the morals aren't dark. Les Mis's morales are pretty much summed up at the end "To love another person is to see the face of God" and redemption (can a bad man change?). Little Shop shows you what happens when you sell your soul to the devil. If any lesson was more important it would be Little Shop. And then once hellbound people know that lesson, then they should see Les Mis for some hope.

ooh..I love both of them, and as Jekkienumber24601 said, they both have fantabulus morals... But I'm gonna have to say les mis, because the music is so timeless and heartbreaking, uplifting, depressing, inspiring..It has so many different facets. But I guess that isn't the best thing to say on a Little Shop board.

I'd prefer Les Mis, since I can actually see myself playing a role in that show. I don't really think there are too many roles for classically trained singers in LSOH.

Well if classical trainning makes one's voice so versatile and adaptable, a classically trained singer should have no problem with a score like Little Shops. Oh but wait...classical trainning doesn't do that...so never mind. Little Shop is a far more interesting show. And there is absoloutly no pretention anywhere near it. Thank god.

Um ... yeah ... okay. Did we have a bad voice teacher, perhaps?
I am a classically trained opera singer (soprano), and I also played Ronnette in a production of LSOH. How's that for versatility?
It was a blast, by the way!

Les Miz has meatier female roles in the form of Cosette and Fantine.

Don't forget Eponine!
They're both great shows, but I think I would prefer to be in Les Miz because I'm a chorus girl through and through, and the chorus of Les Miz seems to be more vital then Little Shop. Little Shop would be fun to do though. Although they're aren't that many girl roles, and even less for a white girl like me...
Basically, I think Les Miz has some of the meatiest female roles and songs in the history of musical theatre, but Little Shop has Seymour, a wonderful male role. I would really be excited to do either though.

Les Mis, without a doubt. I'd give anything to play Eponine, it's my lifelong dream.

I completely disagree with this statement; not sure where the logic is here... Sure the music isn't very difficult to sing, but I highly doubt that classical training limits your ability to sing pop music, and I would be wary of saying that only untrained singers can do the show. Pure sillyness!
