Ah... my dear Very Angry Woman... If you knew how I love when you correct people that way. Twisted Evil
But, hélàs... it seems that you are not always right! I know that could sound incredible... but the facts are here... it IS "by" Orson Welles! Shocked

http://www.mercurytheatre.info/
On that Mercury Theatre page, it is said: This seven-episode series was written, produced, and directed by Orson Welles for the Mutual Network in 1937. While not an official Mercury Theatre production, it featured many of the Mercury Players, including Agnes Moorehead, Ray Collins, and Everett Sloane.

Really, now? Question Refresh my memory - where in the novel did Valjean and Cosette have an extended conversation about the revolutionaries?
Orestes Fasting

In the words of the inimitable Hugo: "Listen to the panegyric which neighbor makes of neighbor. White on white is ferocious; if the lily could speak, what a setting down it would give the dove! A bigoted woman prating of a devout woman is more venomous than the asp and the cobra."

On that rationale, and as a fellow pedant, I have only this to say:

Oh, PWNED.

Not at all surprised that she hasn't appeared in this topic since.

Thanks for the link though, by the way.

Ha ha.

I actually hadn't even clicked on the rest of it after I replied initially because I usually don't care after I think I owned someone. Oh well.

AAARG!!! I always do that mistake. It is because we don't capitalize the same way in French... I'll try to do better! Wink

Fantine, I'm happy that you liked the city!

What about the radio-series? What do you think?

It's not bad. A good listen. Not too dated, and a lot of the opening stuff and the Valjean/Javert stuff is great. Past episode three or four though, it gets very busy, trying to condense a lot of story into just a couple of episodes.

Thanks a lot for the link.
