lea salonga for wicked???

i've heard great reviews from lea salonga's carnegie hall concert last year. Especially the part where she sang defying gravity and popular... they also said that she even sound like kristin chenoweth... but the best part of the show was when she sang defing gravity which was her last song (before encore ofcourse) and she was two months pregnant that time... and she's even very vocal about playing any either glinda or elphaba... i think she would make a great elphaba... i heard her recording of for good with jen paz and it was great... don't you think that she'll be the most beautiful green witch ever?

Definitely not a Glinda, but I still don't think she'd be an awesome Elphaba...there are roles out there that would be better for her.

Where's the option for, "please don't put lea salonga in wicked"?
Pounce

With her exotic looks she would be best as Elphaba. This time she can get the guy instead of losing him as she did in Miss Saigon.

I honestly don't see her in Wicked..actually maybe as Nessarose..but I think she's getting too old..plus I just don't see her in the roles..I think she can definitely sing them though..just don't think she'd fit the part(s)! She has a great voice though..I wich I could have seen her in Miss Saigon..and I absolutely loved her in Flower Drum Song (on the recording)

I would like to see her as Elphaba. Vocally, she's better suited for that role. And yeah it would be nice to see her get the guy Smile (Unlike in Miss Saigon or Les Miserables)
Timmy_Wishes he was Quast

Lea shouldn't do it. She doesn't fit the roles. She might be able to sing it but her personality and acting dynamic in my opinion doesn't suit the roles. She is very good at the mournful weak female. But Elphie and Glinda just aren't those characters.

I like that she doesnt just belt it all like the other silly Elfables.
Luc

What the hell is an Elfable?

He knows...he's making fun of the common tendency of Wicked fans to mispell things.

Seriously though, Salonga actually makes it a good sounding song, I'm impressed.

Are links really that hard to notice?
Luc

When it's almost the same color as the rest of the post, yes.
CheezyAsCats

True.

Hey Sally.
Change that.
