That's so exciting, Laurey is so much fun to play! I am playing her in my community theater's production currently..(last night was opening night!) and it's such a blast. My advice from how I percieve her..Don't be afraid to be spunky/ambitious and maybe even a little cocky and have attitude. But there is also a very fine line that you shouldn't cross with that..because you don't want people to dislike her either! She just puts that on as a front and actually has a whole other side to her that people don't see much. She is vulnerable and confused. She has these deep desires and longings which she won't even admit to herself because she doesn't want to be percieved as weak. There are many layers to her..if you present those different layers I'm sure you'll have a great shot at the role, rather than just playing her flat which happens sometimes.
