Last Show

Has anyone here been to see a certain cast members last show? Or is panning on going?

I saw Idina on the 29th Dec (matinee) in London, that was like, her third to last show I think.
London_Mungojerrie

I most probably will be attending cast change in London on 14h July.
wicked_boy

I'd love to be on Helen's last show, would be sooo funny to see what she comes up with in Popular.
ozhead1130

I agree Very Happy
London_Mungojerrie

I don't think she'll do anything special in Popular. Helen will play it safe I think and just cry...alot...
lovesinging

GOSH you scared me. For a second I thought you meant taking it completely off broadway. Does it show I've had no more than 4 hours of sleep a night for a week? Laughing

HA.

Sho's last show will always be the best. With the Pink panties in Popular and her little "ske your booty" thing in the Toss Toss part / "you look positivley emerald" part. Is anyone else here a bit upset that Kerry is on untill January 2008?

I think it's time London gets a new Elphie.
London_Mungojerrie

BTW did you know it is now only 27 days until castchange in London Sad I spent a good hour crying last night at the thought of never seeing Shona as Elphaba again Crying or Very sad

And I now have tickets for cast change in my hand, which is good I suppose Smile
wicked_boy

Is Shona gonnna be Elphie on her last night? If you know what I mean.

Her last night, as in the day she actually leaves is July 14th and it is VERY unlikely she'll be able to perform then.

But her last definately performing show is 21st June...this thursday Sad

And yes, I am very disapointed Kerry is staying for a year more Sad I want Shona!fulltimeElphie or CJ!fulltimeElphie Smile

They should let Shona do a bow on the 14th during the speaches.

They better...or else Evil or Very Mad

I really will go onto the stage if Shona doesn't get a bow or atleast a mention!
wicked_boy

She should get to pop out of the trap door at the end, like Idina did when she broke herself on accident.

Yeh, really...It's took a while to actually sink in, but I love Shona FAR too much. I won't let her go! Crying or Very sad

And yes, Shona should do an Idina and make a guest appearence from the trap door Razz

No.

She is better than CJ, Shona etc. And will probably be the best Elphaba ever in the London production (besides Idina).

And, by the way, isn't she there until July 2008?

Gotta say I'm not! It gives me more time to get my butt back to London to see Kerry! Besides Idina was Elphaba on Broadway for well over a year originally, it is only fitting, as the first proper British London Elphaba, she should do the same.

My bad, I knew it was one of the J months.
Wicked_Wonders

Im not bothered either. in fact i think its great that Kerrys there until July 08. Also gives me more of a chance to save up to go see her again. I think she's much better than Shona and CJ, i saw Shona when Kerry was on holiday, which was really annoying because i didnt know Kerry was on holiday. So i sat there dissapointed with shona for the whole show. DOnt get me wrong, the show was still amazing, but not as good as it is when Kerry's in it. Also, Helens been great, i'll definately be there for her last show. And i agree, even tho i prefer Kerry, i think Shona should definately come on stage on her last show, she wasn't Kerry but she was ok.

If you're seeing Helen's last, you most write a review. Like speeches, ad-libs etc.

There is a paino version of Dianne on youtube, can't be bothered to look up the link, but she is singing Popular. Check it out, just search it on youtube.
Angel-of-Music*

ive heard it.

its american. but ive heard rumours saying shes playing her british.

i hope she isnt. i'm going to see wicked in the summer, i'd like to see an american glinda.. dont know why but it sounds odd to me british.

Dianne plays Glinda British. In a very much similar way to Helen at the moment, except Dianne is suppose to be better Smile

And if you want to see an American Glinda why see Wicked in London?
Angel-of-Music*

because its cheaper than getting a flight to new york. plus accents dont generaly change with where the show goes. oliver doesnt become american, nor does mary poppins. so its a bit weird. it would be less so if they were all british... it just sounds out of place.

Erm...the whole London cast speak with British accents, except the Wizard who is suppose to be American :S

...and Wicked isn't set in a specific country, or world so therefore the accents don't matter. In my opinion the show works far better with English accents...
Angel-of-Music*

ah well, all the stuff i've seen from youtube sounds american.

haha ok...but I can't understand why, our current London cast, and Dianne all are very English Very Happy
wicked_boy

Wicked is good American or English

American Glinda's make it a ditzy, cheerleader sort of Glinda, more of a sterotypical "blonde".

English Glinda's make it a posh, snobby, higher class Glinda, not what I would call a sterotypical "blonde".

Both are different, and good.

I kinda wish it would close. Not only do 95% of the members here bitch and moan endlessly about it, but I'm hoping that many more shows that have boards here close, so they can be replaced with better shows. And let's face it, NOBODY wants the Tarzan board to be replaced by SA.
wickedboy

Seriously, while I see Wicked's flaws, I still love it! I just cannot stop listening to the music, and I've had the soundtrack well over two years; and seeing it live is just, an experience I can't forget; and relive as often as I can!
Wicked's what got me into loving musicals/ plays, so I'll probably always love it! If present trends continue, and there's no indication that they arn't, Wicked will be around for quite some time... and give me a chance to see it who knows how many times!
