So some of you may have seen The Drama Queen's post about her school switching from Into the Woods to Guys and Dolls. Yeah, I go to the same school (she's my sister), but my situation is a little more cramped.

I'm leaving for a missions trip in Africa next Monday and the auditions are next Thursday, so I have to make a tape of my audition before I leave. I'm making the tape in school on Friday, so I need to have a decision really soon.

Some things I've already worked on with my voice teacher that would be preferable to choose from: Giants in the Sky from Into the Woods, Once In A Lifetime from Stop the World - I Want to Get Off, So In Love from Kiss Me, Kate, Corner of the Sky from Pippin, and Johanna from Sweeney Todd.

I'm thinking So In Love, but what do you think?

"Once in a lifetime" would be my choice.

"So In Love" sounds fine. I can tell you that "Johanna", "Giants..." and CotS are BAD chocies.

It's not done very often and it's a great song. I didn't realise you were going up for Sky in particular but why do you think it doesn't suit his character? I think "So in love" is definitely not Sky-like and requires a different vocal sound as well to Guys and Dolls.

Ah, you're right, I forgot to mention that I'm auditioning for Sky.

Well, I think So In Love fits Sky and the style of the show better than Once In A Lifetime. And as it's a school audition, and most of the people will be singing from Into the Woods since that's what they were told to prepare from, I'm not completely worried about matching anyway.

So I ended up singing Johanna from Sweeney Todd because I had to sing it for a class and the director taped it and just used it.

But I got the part of Sky!
