Last High School PlayHey All!
I have a friend who is graduating from High School soon and so he is doing his final high school show. I know how emotional that can be and I wanted to get him (or make him) a present.
The problem is, he's a boy, and boys are by nature a little harder to buy/craft for. You can make an easy gift out of a charm bracelet with a charm to represent each play the person has been in for a girl, but boys are a little bit harder.
He's sentimental, not overly so. I want to get him something that will either be a great momento of the past, or some sort of "Here is for your theatre dreams of the future" sort of thing. You know?
A little about him:
He's definitely into theatre, although I don't think he's planning on getting a degree in it... I know he wants to keep participating in it. He's really outgoing, loves comedy. I don't really know what else to put...if you need specific info, let me know!
Shows he's done (to the best of my memory):
Music Man
Wizard of Oz
Anything Goes
Rumors by Neil Simon
Beauty and the Beast
Arabian Nights
Some murder mystery play which name I cannot remember
I can spend around $30, I'd prefer to make something since that is usually more personal.
Any ideas would be fabulous. Thanks so much!

Is there any chance of getting pictures or memorabilia from these shows?
If so, you can do a really nice collage and all you would have to pay for is whatever paper supplies you use and the frame...
Or you could do a mini-scrapbook. You know, the ones that are like 1/2 to 1/4 the size of the big square ones? Those are so nice to go back and look through...
Crafty, but I don't think they're too girly if you do them right.

I was going to say try to track down some props.

Not sure if the prop thing is plausible, as he has better access to props than I do, and I know he has a few select things from the shows he's been in.
But I really appreciate the suggestions! Seriously.

To build off the picture suggestion, if you can gather a bunch of photos from him in the shows, go to Wal-Mart's website. You can upload the pictures and have a really nice poster made. That's what my mom has started doing for the variety shows she directs.

I second the photo idea, perhaps a very large photo album which is only partially full, so he has space to continue to add photos of shows he does in the future.

Yeah. In the empty space, put a note saying, "The rest is your dreams, wherever they may take you!" or something like that.
