laryngopharyngeal reflux?

My doctor just diagnosed me with LRD and I am being put on Prilosec. But, I have two shows coming up and I'm really worried! My singing has not been the same for a few months and I am not familiar with this disease. Has anyone suffered from this/can give me any more information? Thanks.

It's acid reflux. You just have to watch what you eat in addition to taking the Prilosec.

I had trouble for a bit when I was stressing about some stuff last year.

It's no big deal.

Stay away from tomatoes, chocolate, spicy food, etc...I'm sure you got the list.

And Mucinex the day of a performance always helps...

Mucinex is AMAZING. I'm not a singer or anything, but it's really good for congestion without the loopy effects of other decogestants like Sudafed or Benadryl.

LOL! But apparently, AllthatJazzHands could do a commercial for Mucinex! Wink

I have it too, I take protonix and don't drink a ton of caffeine and have had no problems at all after about 3 months on medication.

Lakme's right...

It does take awhile for the medication to work, so don't be alarmed if it doesn't seem to work right away. Just follow the dietary precautions that your doc gave you...

Haha! I could. Smile I don't get sick often but it's the one pill that actually works on getting the nasty stuff out of your body!

yup i have it to. I take some pill, i forgot what it's called but it's half pink and half black. lol, anyways...It hasn't ever been too much of a problem for me. Like everyone else says you just got to watch what you eat and avoid food that agravate it.
