Kristen Chenoweth and audition songsHi, I just listened to Kristen Chenoweth's solo CD "Let Yourself Go", and I really loved some of the songs that she included. (Not a big fan of hers, however.)
Some of the songs I like the idea of using for audition songs, but I wasn't sure if it would be a bad idea because of how many people LOVE her and sing songs that she sang just because she sang them.
So what do you think about this? I'd love to have some input!
P.S. Oh, by the way, I wouldn't be singing them in her style, I would be singing them in my style. I don't like her near enough to try to copy her! (I wouldn't copy her anyway!)

I think it's fine as long as you are not copying and giving the song your own style and interpretation. Most of them are classics anyway. What particular songs did you have in mind from that CD? I would avoid Girl in 14g though probably.

Oh, no, I would definitely not use "Girl In 14G". I like that song a lot, but I wouldn't want to use it for an audition.
I was really thinking of the songs like "If You Hadn't But You Did", "How Long Has This Been Going On", "Nobody's Heart Belongs To Me", "Why Can't I", that kind of thing. I haven't really made any decisions or anything, I just didn't know if it was a bad idea.
