Kids Roles

are there any?
what_the_heck013

Two: Ngana and Jerome. Both are supposed to be half asian/half white. They appear once at the beginning of act one, once at the end, and once at the end of act two. They sing one song: "Dites-Moi". Should be about 6-10 years old. The girl (Ngana) is older, the boy (Jerome) is younger.

darn im too old.

We double-cast the kids, & whichever ones weren't Ngana & Jerome that night were natives on Bali Ha'i with the native girls (when Billis & Cable first get to the island). So it's possible that you could have a couple other kids in that scene if you wanted to. Also, I think one of our Jeromes was like 12, but he looked pretty young, so as long as you don't look like a teenager, I guess.

Sorry to revive an old topic, but...

They don't need to be too young. I was twelve when I played Jerome and the girl who played Ngana was thirteen. I think the director only asked us to do it was because we both looked kinda Asian (tan skin + dark hair + makeup = Filipino). As long as you're short and have a high enough voice, I guess.

I mean, their ages aren't ever actually stated, right? So it shouldn't matter so long as they don't look as old as like, Liat or something.

There is also the role of Liat (Bloody Mary's daughter that Cable falls in love with). Liat should be a mid-teen range girl. If I recall correctly, Liat has a major role in the story but has no lines as she is Tonkaneese and doesn't speak English. She does a sort of hula-like sign language with her hands to communicate with Cable.
