Just a few questions

First off i am going to audition for the Music Man in January so i am trying to get a head start on the competion!!!!

I was wondering if any of you knew where i can get/buy a copy of the script so that i can mess around with the lines.

I was also wondering what all dance classes you would recommend to get me back into dancing form ... if ballet or some other kind you thought you used or would use the most please let me know!!!!!!!!!! Thanks a bunch ok just one more question ...

I have to sing a song from the play and I am thinking about singing Goodnight My Someone ... any other suggestions?

I am a female, 5'2, 16, with long brown hair.

I agree; it's always a good idea to get a head start! I'm not positive where you can get a script, unless you know someone who has been in it before that will let you borrow theirs. You could also check your library, or if you're really desperate, you could always rent the movie. There are a lot of similar lines in there, and it would at least give you a good idea of the characters, even if not the exact lines.

We didn't have a specific type of dancing when we did this show; it was just your basic sort of musical theater choreography, kind of like the movie but a LOT less complicated (this was a high school show Smile). I'd say don't bother taking a tap or ballet class, unless you're just looking to gain a little more grace or familiarity with moves.

"Goodnight My Someone" is a very good audition song for the show, especially if you want to audition for Marian. "My White Knight" would also be a good choice, or if you want to audition for a different part (such as Mrs. Shinn, the mayor's wife and the comedic female part) then you might want to sing "76 Trombones" or "Wells Fargo Wagon," which aren't really associated with any female part and are more fun to sing (well, in my opinion Very Happy).

Good luck on your audition; keep us updated on how it goes!

**Edited for format.
