Julia Murney

Did anyone get a chance to see Julia perform on the Wicked tour? I love her voice so much and I'm really excited that she's playing Elphaba on Broadway.
Etoile

I saw her and Kendra Kassebaum when the tour came to MN last July. She was definately good, just not the best. It was Kendra who really stole the show. At least when I saw it. From the last row of the last balconey, so I probably couldn't hear/see well anyway.

saw her on b-way like 2 weeks ago and she was amazing! her defying gravity left me in tears. they were amazing i had the 4th row !!

Loved her in Wild Party and in the Chess concert. Why she is wasting her time with Wicked I dont know. the woman is talented as all hell.

I haven't seen her live, but Youtube is a blessing Very Happy ...I agree with Etoile that Kendra pretty much steals the show, but that's because her Glinda is so amusing to watch (she's like a kid on crack or some sort of heavy duty sugar), but Julia is wonderful, especially in that she has amazing chemistry with Kendra. They're such a funny Glinda/Elphaba pair, one of my favourites! Razz

Youtub has not been overly friendly to Julia, though...there are quite a few eople who don't like her defying gravity, especially the ending note, which many say sounds like yodeling or some sort of viking yell...however, I think her singing is perfect, and I love how deep and rich her voice is!

Hope this helped.

Julia and Kendra are a "Elphie/Glinda Match Made In Heaven." Lol. I saw them perform live (my first time seeing Wicked) and it was just jaw-dropping!

Have you checked out Julia Backstage on Broadway.com. She's reallly funny and it's really cool to see how she prepares for a show.

If anything, it looks good on a resume, and it'll get her name around, more people will know who she is, and it will give her a better chance of getting really good roles. Just my thoughts.

I agree that she's wasting her talented on Wicked... although I just watched her "No Good Deed" on YouTube, and it almost made me want to see the show again, just for her. Almost... not quite.
