I played Judah, but it's different in every show.
Well, in my production, I sing "Those Canaan Days", but in the script it said Simeon would sing that. So did they tell u if u were singing any solo?
If not, well technically, ur just a brother. Judah is just one of the brothers and just does everything that they do.
But, if u got a solo, then u still hang out w/ the brothers during the show, but in one song, u get to shine.
The brothers, I think, is the best part in the show, just because its a group of you and u have the funniest and best song, 'Those Canaan Days"

I see Judah as a hilarious, funny, comical person in the play. You can always caught his act jolly and amusing, it is very easy to notice Judah because of his character what I am saying.
If you're playing Judah, I think you'll be more effective if you're black, the way George Mcintyre portrayed it was excellent, aside from the color..LOL! you must have that humorous side that makes your director and the whole cast wanting more...

Biblically, Judah was a natural leader, though not the eldest. Reuben was always a bit of a "I-told-you-so" sort of guy, and tries to blame others for things he feels guilty about. Judah feels a lot of responsibility for his family, and is the one that falls to his knees and begs Joseph to take him instead of Benjamin. That's why he's technically supposed to sing "Benjamin Calypso".
