Joanna Pacitti disqualified from American IdolFormer ANNIE star, Joanna Pacitti, has been cut from the top 36 of American Idol. Poor gal. Really liked her. She I think starred in the ANNIE Broadway revival in the late 80s or 90s.Comments, anyone? |

She was accepted into the top 36... then disqualified.
" Singer Joanna Pacitti was disqualified from the final 36 "American Idol" contestants on Wednesday amid allegations she had close relationships with two of the show's producers. Now "Idol" host Ryan Seacrest confirms to FOXNews.com that the controversial singer's ties may have been a factor in her dismisal. “The producers do the background checks right around [the] Hollywood [round]," Seacrest said. "When they see something that stands out, they have to address it. And they saw something, and there was apparently some sort of a link that, somewhere along the line, could be construed as one that’s close to the competition, and they didn’t want to risk it."" http://www.foxnews.com/story/0,2933,492284,00.html |

Heres Something:
In 1996, at age 12, Pacitti was chosen to star in the 20th anniversary revival of the musical Annie after entering a contest sponsored by the department store Macy's.[1] Pacitti starred in 106 performances with the national tour, obtaining mixed reviews. Two weeks before the show was to land on Broadway, she became ill with bronchitis. She returned to find she had been permanently replaced not by her understudy, but by Brittny Kissinger, one of the actresses playing an orphan instead. The firing generated a great deal of national publicity and led to the case Pacitti v. Macy's, Also, She has been on other reality shows!: Pacitti was one of three participants in MTV's First Year, which detailed the process of obtaining various professions over the course of a year. Pacitti is seen attempting to launch a music career in the show. She recorded the song Watch me Shine on the Legally Blonde soundtrack, as well as the song Out From Under on the Bratz: Motion Picture Soundtrack. Out from Under was later covered by Britney Spears for her 2008 album Circus.[3] |
