Jersey Boys in SF for many months? Is it possible?Hi everyone.I was looking at Jersey Boys national tour premiere in SF and realized that all the ads and websites say "Begins December 1st" without a closing day. Tickets are currently on sale through mid-Feb. The Curran theater does not have anything else scheduled the rest of the season. Is it possible that they will just keep extending the closing date since the cast doesn't need to be anywhere else until LA in May? The prices are so expensive...hoping they'll stay for a few more months and ticket prices come down. Here's to hoping =) |

I run a fan site for the tour on myspace and I have been reading a lot about it.
Show previews start Dec 1st, opening night is the 10th and plays till February 11, but I have heard rumors that it will extend. I am not sure about this but I think I read some where they they are sold out, but I dont know for sure. hope this helped some http://www.myspace.com/jerseyboysnationaltour |

Thanks for the info =)
They're not sold out at Curran yet, but they are at the point where most tickets left are not non-optimal seats. Hopefully it'll extend so I can get in on the ticket-buying once they're available and get decent center front mezzanine seats or something like that. =) |

The show has unofficially (but officially) been extended until May.
That's from an usher. |

wow, thanks for the info =) I forgot about this thread and guess my hope actually became a reality. I have tickets for March 8th...can't wait!
There have also been rumors that it will run for up to a year here in SF and a separate cast will take over the tour in May when it arrives in LA. If that is the case (somehow it seems like a long shot since nobody has heard about another new cast practicing or anything like that), perhaps that means that the SF cast will become the cast of a possible sit-down production in Vegas. Lot's of random longshots...but who knows...maybe it'll happen =) |

So tickets are now available until April 1st.
I also got an email from Group Sales saying that group blocks of tickets have been released for four more weeks (from March 25th on). So that confirms Jersey Boys will be around until end of April. PURE SPECULATION: I say Jersey Boys SF rumors are true and they stay at Curran for a year. A separate cast will take over the tour when it's time for LA. By the time Jersey Boys in SF finishes, they will have worked out a deal for Jersey Boys to play in Vegas. The SF cast will then be sent to Vegas. Mamma Mia is closing after a five-year run in May 2008 so maybe Jersey Boys can take over at Mandalay Bay. As long as they don't cut the show down to 90 minutes, it'll be a hit. Mamma Mia is the only show in Vegas running full length, so hopefully if Jersey Boys transplants there, it will also not be cut. |

This is apparently the case. The Las Vegas company opens in mid- (or late-) November at the Curran, where the set is staying put after the Chicago company leaves on Sept. 30. |
