Hey! I'm not sure if anyone has posted this yet but I found it on myspace and it's GREAT! I don't know what production it is though...the choreography is def not the touring cast unless they changed the entire ball! But I love the costumes and their Victoria is a beautiful dancer!

Any idea??

looks like the peoria (sp?) version to me, I saw a clip of M&R over on the CCDB and it looks a very similar set.....*shrugs* could be wrong though...

Its the Peoria, Ill. regional cast! It should be called as Ms. Jellicle said: "The Victoria Ball!" LOL! Laughing Victoria has a lot of solos in it.

Everyone get a MySpace account so we can connect and see each other. Half the Troika cast is on there now. You can find a LOT of good stuff on there.

Heh. The choreography is quite good, surprisingly. It reminds me of the Japanese version, a lot of it looks very similar. And everyone in that show can dance! Yay!

Yeah, their Victoria is a good dancer. I love her outfit and how they did the arm warmers. Bom wasn't half bad, either.

I want to know what kind of synth they were using for the last segment, right where the tempo slows down. It sounds like an old Polymoog or Roland, maybe a Juno. If anyone knows, pass along the info please! (sorry, I used to be in an industrial band, I've got a fetish for old synths and/or software than can emulate them)

about a minute in, watch closely[it's around the time Quaxo picks up Victoria] they do THRILLER!!!

Huh? Did I say that? Laughing Wish I did. Cute phrase! You must have been thinking of me! But really meant someone else. Smile

Anyways, I love the costumes and I think the set is original. The dancing was graceful and nice...but too....um.... together? It doesn't seem split up enough like Broadway does it. Anyways, I do wish I could have seen the whole performance. It looks interesting.

Here it is on youtube

Pretty good and nice costumes for a regional. Makes you appreciate the national productions and how difficult the parts must be to play.

And here is the Peoria Jellicle Songs for Jellicle Cats

Not bad really but no UFO and it seemed a great deal of time passing of nothing happening till the green eyes appeared, they didn't seemed to be unison when flashing the eyes and turning them off, throwing the shoe out instead of dropping it was kinda funny, and some spotlights and actors couldn't find each other in the beginning Laughing

Choreography looks a bit simplified but one would expect that but there were some flashes of brilliance. Smile As I've said many times, this is not an easy show to do! Wink

I can't view the video on My Space. The macromedia flash player won't work. I tried to download the player, but instead the website took me to adobe.com. So I downloaded the adobe player, because adobe and macromedia merged, but still no dice.

There are some close-ups in the link provided. Victoria looks lovely. I love the Mungojerrie and Rumpelteazer. To me it feels like they combined the best of the original London and current installment of the song. Other than the toned down chereography I liked the duo. In the beginning you can hear when Mungojerrie is trying to catch his breath as he dances or is that the mics acting up?

Who made the costumes?
Cassandra

The reason the costumes look so good is because a majority of them are authentic Broadway unitards and warmers! Very Happy

From the Peoria Journal Star:

Quote:
Most of the show's costumes wound up in Peoria through Brian Andrews, another native Peorian with ties to the Broadway show. Andrews' mother, Ginny Andrews, has worked on costuming at Peoria Players over the years and is involved in "Cats."

"Brian was involved with the original Broadway production for nine years," Koch said. "When they discarded a costume, he would take it home and put it in a trunk. When he found out we were doing this production, he offered the costumes. Needless to say, we were thrilled."

Whoa! Actually authentic costumes?! Maybe they'll sell a few.
