Just a question.

I always assumed both Jekyll and Hyde MUST be played by the same person.

But a friend of mine is doing this at their school and they are splitting the roles. But still making it look like he's one person.. Since he supposidly sings a duet with himself..

Does he need to be a split role?

Since the whole point of it is meant to be split personalities of one person I think it is extremely important it should only be played by one person.

But I suppose for school performance allowances can be made.

Playing both parts can be very vocally taxing, especially if you're not a professional. It comes with the territory.

I've always seen Jekyll and Hyde played by the same actor in professional productions, but in more amateur productions or shows where they couldn't find a talented enough lead, they split the role. As long as they do it well, it doesn't bother me too much...although it'd tick me off to no end if they did that in a professional production.

And you know what's even stranger-my friend who got the role of Hyde is a girl, and the person playing Jekyll is a guy!

Anyway, I've seen the show.. It was alright. the fact that Hyde was a girl wasn't that big a deal. I would of preferred to see a male, but it doesn't matter. My friend did great though.

And Dangerous Game? That's the song with Lucy, right?!
that actually worked kinda well, coz the girl playing Lucy was best friends with the girl playing Hyde, so the touching and all that was not silly and fake.. It looked real. Oddly, they were very comfortable with each other haha.
