I haven't seen AIDA, but I know that JCSS is rock music. Why not do a pop/rock song? |

You're gonna need to belt for both those shows. Do something in your belty range. Think of Me and All that Jazz are waaay overdone, I've been to auditions where the notices specificially say not to sing those songs. Might as well do some big ballad. My new belty audition song is the high part of the harmony in "who will love me as I am" from Side Show. But thats a REALLY high belt, and it sounds stupid if you don't belt it. Hmm I dunno exactly what song at the moment but just do something in your chest voice cuz theres not really legit singing in either of those shows. |

Like What the Heck said, a pop/rock song would be a good idea. www.musicaltheatreaudition.com says that both muscials are of the pop/rock genre of music.
If you're looking for a theater song that's belty, anything from "The Wild Party" would be awesome, I think, especially "Out of the Blue", "Raise the Roof", or "Look at me now" (done by Edina Menzel who was also in Aida, something to consider...) |
