JCS (2000) Tracks?

Does anyone know where I could possibly download the tracks from the movie? All I can find are ones from the original, plus one single track from 2000 (Simon Zealotes/Poor Jerusalem). Thanks in advance.

Buy the CD, or at least iTunes!

Get the original movie! It sounds way better!

Salome

the 2000 tv film in better acted and sung.
jarrod001

The 2000 version is disgusting.
Salome

theres a constructive comment. Rolling Eyes

you look at the acting in the Jewison film..its flat..except for Neely and Dennen. the 2000 version is exciting..the characters really come out. and the music doesnt sound flat.
jarrod001

The 2000 version is painful to watch and listen to.
Especially Judas, Jesus, and Mary.
I wanted to cry.
Salome

mary and jesus were wonderful. she was so much better than yvonne 'I cant act or sing" ellmann
jarrod001

Mary and Jesus were wonderful...til they opened their mouths.
That movie is the worst adaptation of JCS ever.
All the bad acting and the squealing. Just terrible.
Salome

where do you see bad acting? judas wasnt great but that was the only weak link.
jarrod001

The entire thing is one bad acting blob!
Are you being serious?
You actually think it's good?!?!
Salome

I loved it. I loved the stagingt he acting, the singing.

i found jewison's original film to be one of the worst adaptaions of the musical to screen ever.
jarrod001

I think many would disagree on that.
Salome

actually the Jewison JCS film is not very highly regarded. When Jewison directs films of stage hits they tend to either be brilliant (Agnes of Gos, Fiddler on the Roof) or poor (JCS , Other Peoples Money).
general opinion rates
My Fair Lady
Oliver
Chicago
West Side Story
and
King and I

as the best stage to screen adaptations

The '73 movie sounds much better. The new Jesus loses all power on the high notes, Judus is completely wrong for the part. Annas whines, not sings. Herrod doesn't even try and sing. It looks better than it sounds.

Only Mary and Chiaphas meet the standard of the old movie.
MunkustrapQC

I prefer Jesus and Judas from the 73 movie, but I prefer the rest from the 2000 version. The orchestration is way better and the acting of the ensemble own the 73 movie's ensemble! Mary is great in the new version, and I'm not talking about Caiaphas, Pilate, Peter, Simon, Annas, etc that are perfect for their roles.
For Herod, I hate both of them (73 and 2000 version)
