Is the Tour Non-equity?Yo chumsI saw the troika tour- it was amazing. I thought I read somewhere that there was a lot of controversy because this was a non-eq tour billing itself as a Broadway tour. When I looked in the program, however, all of the actors were equity. Can it still be a non-eq tour if all the actors are members of equity? Is it that the production/crew etc are not equity? Could someone clear this up for me? Thanks. |

The Evita tour is Equity.
Anyone who has been Equity and ends up in a non-Equity show (like Jennifer Paz, who after doing Miss Saigon on the 1st national tour and Les Miz on Broadway before doing a zillion productions of Miss Saigon, including the non-Eq tour) is no longer in the union. To know for sure which tours are Equity and which are not, go to: http://www.actorsequity.org/TheatreNews/tour_list_0402.html (Although strange enough, Evita is not on there.) |
