Having been in the show, received a copy of the Script, looked at the libretto books, watched the Original Cast video, and purchased the actual OBCR CD I can assure you that the final number is children will listen, or might appear as Finale: Children Will Listen or even Children Will Listen (Finale).
Nowhere in the finale song (so far as I can remember) is the lyric "people will listen" ever said so it makes no sense that in the "tracklisting on the back of the cd" would it say that. Sorry I'm just confused by your post. If you bought an official OBCR CD from a reputable source than it should not say "People will listen." If you downloaded the tracks electronically say from the internet, or from a questionable source than that may be why the track is labeled incorrectly.
Hope that solved your problem

it's weird i looked inside the liner notes in the inside booklet and it says children will listen.
i honestly think this is some kind of typo. maybe this cd is worth something lol. maybe i'll "misplace" this cd and buy it from the library. lol.

I have the OLC, the OBC, and the revival cast and all say Children Will Listen

On my OBC, which is the 2007, Sony edition, it says:
Finale: People Will Listen
I don't know what the other OBC editions says, but the cover in front of me says People Will Listen.

Hmmm, that's REALLY weird. I've never even HEARD of it being called "People Will Listen", and I own the OBC and OLC. Weird.

well, it might simply be a printing mistake on the 2007, Sony edition CD's. I do not believe that People Will Listen is it's name. According to the score though, it's entitled:
Finale (Part III)
Which also contains the Baker's Wife song to the Baker ("Just Calm the Child")

yes, mine is the edition with the bonus tracks, I believe it is only a mistake, I do not think they intended to call it People Will Listen.
