Is NOTHING good for an audition? What to people think about singing NOTHING for an audition? Good? Bad? Does it show enough singing? Is the acting inappropriate for a singing audition? Comments please......

The default response would be no. It's fairly overdone, despite all the reasons to want to do it.
However, if the audition is something for school and possibly even community theatre, I would say it could be acceptable.

It's like saying, "Hi! I can't act! I feel nothing! Pick me for this role!"
I say no. I think "At The Ballet" or "The Music and the Mirror" would be better, if you need a song from A Chorus Line.

No. One of the worst possible audition songs. If they wanted a monolouge, they would have asked for it.

It all depends on what show you're auditioning for, and the part. If you're going for a part that's totally overdone (Little Red from ITW, Sally in YAGMCB, etc.) then yes-DEFINITELY. I've done this at an audition and it went over quite well-despite the fact that I was losing my voice. And despite what I've heard from others about this song being for "acting wannabes" at auditions-it is NOT. If you really can't act and try it-then it will go over quite badly. However, if you just let loose and show the judges that you can move around on stage and put acting/movement into your song then it can really go over well! But again-it ALL depends on the role, show and circumstances.

^^Yes, but as someone pointed out about it being monologue-ish, it doesn't show off enough of the voice. Its just not proper audition rep.
