IQs

Have any of you actually done a proper test, and not one of them shoddy online ones? I have.. and damn.. it made me feel rather stupid.

I got 125 on the last test I did. So that made me feel less stupid. For someone who's still in high school (not gonna tell you how old I really am) I think that's pretty good.

What is your IQ?
Jordan

I've done the online ones that are from companies trying to sell you something and scored in the 140's. However, I did the BBC Test The Nation IQ test and found that my IQ is 118. From what I recall, they said the 'average' IQ in the UK is about 105.

Unfortunately, looking at the site, they've moved over to general knowledge quizzes now rather than an IQ test, the first one was about 5 years ago and they're no longer hosting that test Sad

All I know is that I qualify for Mensa. I wish I knew exactly.

I took one when I was about 7 or 8, and based on the results of that, the school placed me in the GATE (Gifted And Talented Education) program at school. My mother would never tell me my exact score, because she didn't want me to think that a number on a piece of paper was the most important indicator of one's scholastic abilities. Of course, she was right (grrrr!). So I studied hard, did well in school, and got into a good college, which did nothing whatsoever to prepare me for the "real world". Confused

She finally did tell me about 2 years ago -- I scored 145. Which by that time I had pretty much figured out, since that is approximately what I had scored on a couple of online IQ tests. I think I qualify for MENSA, but am not terribly interested in joining.

My husband has an IQ score of 165. Everyone keeps telling us we need to breed to keep our intelligence in the gene pool. However, I don't think a high IQ is enough to compensate for the variety of genetic health problems he has that we don't want perpetuated.

Sigh. What are you gonna do?
MsDivaKate

I usually score between 140-145 on IQ tests.

The same happened to me, my mother still hasn't told me mine. lol Laughing
Pubgirl

Can't remember mine. But I do know that most people who work as performers in the Entertainment industry are known to have very high IQ scores.

Which probably means that everone here is a genius. Which also would explain why we argue a lot of the time.

Too many genius' spoil the forum, or whatever Laughing
Descartes

I'm pretty sure I'm above average intelligence, but I don't want to be labeled as 'genius'.

I'm in some study for preemie babies, and they test my IQ every few years...I think it's in the 160's-170's range...dunno, really. Whatever my IQ is, it obviously has no affect on my common sense...I have none! Smile

According to my business teacher people who are good at music do their accounting books backwards.. Which is true, because I do.
BwayJuvinile

I took one about 6-7 years ago and scored a 144, and it was an actual sit down test.
Bex

my IQ (depending on the test) can range between 114 to 140 but those are all internet rubbish

I took a test in psychology about a year ago.. I don't remember exactly, it was in the 134-138 range.

Shocked
Kragey

No clue, and I'm glad for that.

Having a high IQ hasn't meant much to most...

Spring Break Goal: Read all Social Club threads starting from the last page to first. Thought I'd reply to a few maybe?

I was in GATE too!!! I have no idea what my IQ is... I know I've been tested, but I still have no idea. My mother said when I took all these tests I qualified for MENSA too but she never put me in it. Haha, maybe it would have taught me to be a little more motivated.

I'm only motivated in subjects I have a passion for. I'm in calculus but slack off because I dont care, and so half the time I dont pay attention and do horribly but when I do I understand. And I totally completely love organic chemistry-- is that weird?

Haha.
Cake_in_Song

All I got from being gifted was a fricking mental illness. The extreme difficulty getting myself to focus on my work almost outweighs my intelligence.
