Intro & a question: Commemorative vs. Ultimate DVD (Mist

Good afternoon everyone! I'm new, but old...I used to post on here many Jellicle Moons ago in a different Jellicle life...

Anyway, I have a specific question regarding the Mistoffelees dance on Commemorative and Ultimate DVDs.

I have Googled, You Tubed, searched this forum, and read roughly 260 of the 501 reviews on Amazon, but my lunch hour is coming to a close and I could not find a clear answer. If it's OK, I thought I'd ask the question here: the Misto dance on the Commemorative DVD is the same as the VHS version; ie., the coolest part of Misto's dance, the seemingly endless fouettes to the drumbeat were eliminated from both versions. Knowing that the entire dance was in fact filmed, but not in the VHS and Commemorative DVD, is it in the "Ultimate" DVD? I'm totally willing to buy the "Ultimate" DVD, but only if it contains the Misto dance. The dance + the music of that number is one of my favorites.

Since I am new and don't really know anyone, I wouldn't want to impose upon anyone to send me any video or clips from a live performance...but if anyone can tell me whether the full dance is in the Ultimate DVD, I'd appreciate it! I really love that part! Can you tell?

Thanks,

Jennifer

No, I'm afraid the full dance isn't on the Ultimate DVD either. Lord knows why they skipped it/changed the choreography!
The ultimate DVD has a brochure with a song listing and a few pictures, and the commemorative one doesn't, but that's the only difference as far as I'm aware. (I'm sure someone will tell me if I'm wrong).

I'm confused with all this ultimate stuff, can someone explain please?

Ultimate DVD

The "Ultimate" being discussed here is the CATS Video DVD with a Bonus DVD of interviews, production cuts and some make-up features.

Thanks Ultra-lilac...I *just* bought the Commemorative DVD, since it was $14.99, and I'm trying to see what the difference is with the "Ultimate" edition, and whether it is worth purchasing too. If it had the full Misto dance, it would have been worth it!

I would have thought with DVD, that they could have added back the cut scenes that were actually filmed, like the Misto dance. *sigh*

Thanks!
