Into the Woods Fanfiction

I just discovered this small collection of Into the Woods fanfiction. I've read most of them and so far, they are really really good in my opinion.

I give brownie points to anyone who can guess which story is mine.
Tumnus1031

I remember reading "Fish Tales," and it was quite funny.

I'm gonna guess yours is..."Lovely"?
ConverseSneaker

Good Guess, but wrong. It is a favorite of mine though.
MusicalGal1194

I guess yours is...."I'm the Hitch"?
ConverseSneaker

Wrong!
Baker

I've only read a few of these. "Lovely" is brilliant.

You should definitely read "I Wish: The Disney Butchering of Into the Woods." It was posted years ago and was never completed, but what's there is hilarious!
ConverseSneaker

Lovely and Chasm are both pretty fantastic. The Thirteenth year too, is an amazing read.

I know I'm reviving an old thread, but I'm curious - Converse, you never told us which was yours!

Well, you never guessed it! Wink

This gave me the creeps though. I just read a review for one of my stories and I saw this thread. Baker, you don't have an account on fanfiction, do you?
Baker

Ha! Yes, I do!

You are not Symbolist are you?
Baker

Yep. Who are you?
ConverseSneaker

Creepy. I was reading the review you sent me when I saw you revived this thread.
Baker

What's your penname? I've reviewed a couple of different ITW fics today, so they've kind of run together...

RedCloakedMaiden
Baker

Somehow, as soon as I saw that RedCloakedMaiden had an ITW fic, I knew it was you...
ConverseSneaker

Why didn't you guess that one then? Wink

Yeah, my avatar might make it a bit obvious....

That fanfiction is crazy. The Disney one takes the top prize for pure comedy.

I'm a huge Disney buff, but that had me rolling on the floor laughing. Too bad there's not more to it...I'd have loved to see what the writer said about the Wolf's costume, lol.
Tumnus1031

I have a fanfiction account too! "Tanookie."

Although...none of my fics are ItW or fairy-tale related. Rather surprising actually.

Harvest Moon FTW!

A-MEN! I love those games, Tumnus. Very Happy
Alexia Dark

Haha. Cute.

I think I may begin a fanfiction for ITW... I sort of already have, because I was required to write a character biography for the Witch during camp... yes, I think I shall start soon...
Alexia Dark

Sorry to double-post, but I just thought I'd say that in a crazy, week-long writing marathon, I finished the fanfic I planned, and I like it very much.

Unforunately, it appears that fanfiction.net has a policy that includes not using direct quotes or lyrics from a show, and that sort of squashes the idea of me uploading my fanfic, which has 3 parts, the latter two being mostly the libretto of the show, but with the Witch's perspective in mind, as well as what happens whenever she runs off-stage chasing someone/other things happen.

Any ideas as to where I could put it? (It's on facebook if anyone wants to read it, but I'd like to put it somewhere else, too).
Baker

Actually, you can post it on fanfiction.net. Their policy is that you can't post a chunk of lyrics from a song at a time - that's different from posting them as lines to show a certain person's perspective. What they forbid is called "songfic." I'll see if I can find an example.

If you still don't want to post on fanfiction.net, there are communites of fanfic writers on livejournal.
Alexia Dark

I checked out livejournal - that site's way too confusing and messy, I don't like it.

And every other fanfic place I've found seems to have the same policy about quoting the original material.

Meh. I'll make another blogspot account and post it there. Hopefully that'll work.
Baker

Like I said, there's no problem with quoting the original material providing you mention that it's not yours and that it's not just like this:

Paragraph of lyrics from Last Midnight

The Witch didn't know that blah blah blah...

The Baker said, "Blah blah blah..."

Little Red watched as blah blah blah

More lyrics

It's kind of hard to explain. But you should be fine to post on ff.n anyway, they aren't that picky about that rule.
