Info on Baby June and Baby LouiseI have never seen Gypsy on stage and my daughters want to audition for the show. I have a 9 year old and a 14 year old. What do Baby June & Louise and or Dainty June & Louise usually do in the stage production? I assume singing and tapping are a given... what else? Thank you in advance!!!

Hmmm... 14 awfully young for Louise and awfully old for Baby June or Louise... but if she can ham it up and is a talented young singer and dancer she can pull Dainty June and any Hollywood Blonde.
The nine year old, if vibrant and exciting and very talented, can be Baby June. Acting is more the thing with young Louise, to project her being a wallflower. But June usually just has to be cute, perky, and a talented singer and dancer.

Louise...Ann Jillian was only 12 when she played June in the 1962 film version! But, I'll admit, that was a little creepy...

Didn't Natalie Wood play Louise in that film?

I'm 13 and I'm playing Dainty June. It can be done. I am so happy. At first I got the part of Marjorie May. But then we couldn't find a June. So they picked me. The reason I didn't get June in the first place is because they were looking for a girl who danced really well and did gymnastics. They couldn't find one, so they picked me. I am so happy about being June!

It's a musical. They sing. They act. They dance. What else do you want them to do? Circus tricks on a giant elephant wearing left over "costumes" from Godspell?
EDIT: That was a joke, by the way. Nevertheless, partly true. Partly being the first part.

Also Dainty June is supposed to be 13 pretending to be 9.
Our Baby June is 11 but looks a lot younger in real life and especially with her costume.

I'm thirteen, 5'5" and look older than I am and I'm playing Baby June, I am the "Baby" of our company though... most of the people are in between 16 and 21

I would say 9 and 14 are perfectly fine ages for the babies.
Our baby June was 10 (looked about 7 though) and our Baby Louise was 15 (looked about 13/14).
I played adult June, and was 23 (looking about 18 ) at the time making the "I'm nine years old" joke pretty damn funny, and our adult Louise was 29 (could pull off early twenties).

I was Baby June when I was 11. I was very small for my age though. It was so much fun!
