In Need of Audition HelpHi everyone this is my first time on the forums! My school has decided to do Beauty and the Beast for our spring musical. I am 16, a junior, high baritone/tenor range (B2-Ab when last tested), 5'11", slender. I have performed in numerous comidic roles and comedy is no stranger to me. I also have training in modern, tango, and ballroom dance. With that said i was looking to audition for either Lumiere or LeFou but the problem is our director has chosed some odd audition songs for us. People auditioning for Lumiere must sing Human Again singing all the different parts. It just seems like such a strange choice. LeFou's have to sing Gaston but im afraid i may be too tall for the part. Can someone offer me advice on what might fit me best? Thanks

Lumiere is very comical and he also has to tango, so I think Lumiere would be the best part for you. Keep in mind Lumiere speak-sings most of his lyrics so just try to put some acting in to your song. Human Again doesn't have a big range, so hopefully you can pull it off. Just practice and be comedic and you'll do fine.

I honestly think Lumiere is my favorite male role in this show. Absolutely fantastic. LumBabsFan can give you the heads up on him, I recommended her to all hopeful Babette and Lumiere auditioners.

Yeah, LumBabsFan seems to know a lot about Lumiere and Babs. Hopefully she can help you.

A friend called me a "Lumière/Babette enthusiast" and I add on the "since age 10."

Haha, I love Lumiere and Babs.
By the way: another option you may want to consider is Gaston. He's very comedic but in a different way than Lumiere.
