Im auditioning for Orin soon

so, on the 2nd and 3rd of march, theres auditions for a community theatre production of Little Shop and i really wanna go for Orin - have for years - especially if they do the role according to script, where i'd get to play all those extra parts.

the only thing that bothers me is that in the audition notice, it says that Orin is in his 30s to 40s... since when?? regardless, Im gonna go for it anyhow.

any advice from anybody??

Isn't Audrey in her 20s? That's how old Orin should be, imo.

Orin also has the highest of the male singing parts. He goes up to a G above the staff during "Now (It's Just the Gas)" and during the Finale.

I just got done playing Orin in November. It is so much fun. Umm... I made Orin kinda sexed up, but also somewhat realistic. He was kind of in his own world and thought that what he was doing was right and didn't care about other peoples opinions.

My director hated my Orin, but everybody told me I stole the show with my performance, so I guess I was right.

If you have any questions or whatever, just PM me or whatevs.

well, Im most familiar with the "Now (It's Just The Gas)" on the new album, and i know alot of that is spoken, but the singing parts i can seem to hit well. i do mess up the Finale alot, tho - that part worries me. also, the fact that rehearsals are pretty short for this one: auditions are at the beginning of march and the show starts at the end of april. i havent done a show in a coupla years, but we had at least 2 months to rehearse before.

ah well. thanks for your response.

Also, Orin's stuff is a lot higher in the computerized score. The handwritten score makes him very much a baritenor, but in the computerized one, a lot of his stuff is higher, especially "Dentist."

Also if they are following the standard casting, the actor playing orin also plays all the customers, reporters, and talent scouts (both male an female).
