Idina in "Enchanted"

Has anyone seen the movie trailers for Disney's Enchanted? There is a short snippet of Idina!!!
Little_Nell

For your viewing pleasure...

http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0461770/trailers-screenplay-E32945-10-2

I have to say, I actually kinda sorta maybe want to see this. Yay Susan Sarandon as a baddie!! Applause
Catherine

where is it? I couldn't see her...
wicked_boy

When he stabs the bus, there is a Wicked billboard in the back ground.
Where was Idina in it, I coudln't see her.
Little_Nell

She was standing behind the princess... for about a quarter of a second.
Catherine

oh right.

My eyesights not that good, I musn;t have noticed
wicked_boy

I saw her, who is she playing?
Elfie Lou

My computer is not loading it Crying or Very sad
Are there any other links to this trailer?
kozafluitmusique

I saw a trailer on youtube and I was like, "OMG WHERE'S IDINA?? I couldn't see her anywhere...and I have pretty good vision."
Little_Nell

She is definitely in there. On the link I posted it's at about 1:37, she's standing next to the princess behind the... prince?
lovesinging

Ok, I'm clueless. Did this already come out?
wicked_boy

When's this getting released?
Elfie Lou

On Wikipedia it says it will be released on November 21, 2007.
Little_Nell

I think it has a December release date for the UK.
pish123c

I don't get why this is posted on the Wicked forum and not the MDN social club or Other Shows or something...I mean, she's done more than one show, and I doubt as an actress she'd want to be tied to this one show.
BroadwayObssessed

She's playing a character called "Nancy"...according to IMDB...
She's a main charactor...

Julie Andrews I believe narorrates (sp?) it too.

Cool
sunshinekate

This looks so good! Ahh!

True.

But I think, especially because she played it in London as well andreleased DG on her album, most people think of her as Elphie.
Imnotthatgirl21

According to IMDB.com Idina is playing Nancy in the movie. Whoever that is...I do not know. I saw the trailer when I saw Harry Potter and now that I know that Idina is going to be in the movie I want to see it more.
rabymon10

Yes, she is a main character. 'Nancy' is the fiance of Patrick Dempsey's character 'Robert', whom Amy Adams' 'Giselle' shows an interest in when she is cast from the animated fairytale realm into present day New York. And yes, it is a musical - all music and lyrics by none other than Alan Menken and Stephen Schwartz.

JAI
What Is This Feeling?

yup, indeed I did! However, I loked intensely, and I must conclude I saw her in 2 1 second clips, lol. Saw it today when I went to go watch HP.
Wicked_Freak

Here's the Ad for Wicked. There's also one for Chicago and RENT. Here's the pics:

Do I see The Producers?
actor

Yes.

And Hairspray.

And Jersey Boys.
lovesinging

Idina AND Julie Andrews AND Alan Menken AND Stephen Schwarz?? Niice. Laughing
Mistress

I've known about this for awhile, as it's been on IMDB for a while...anyway, it looks interesting...especially with Idina in it and all. The one thing I'm concerned about, however, is thsat Idina is probably going to be the only one doing her own singing as evidenced by the lomng list of singing voices in the cast list o IMDB...oh well I guess it's not a big deal...Idina still rules. Mr. Green
nickhutson

No - everyone will be singing their own songs. The singers listed are probably ensemble singers.

I think a lot of the Idina fangirls are going to be disappointed, because she has a pretty small part - she's not a lead - according to Schwartz.

I am looking forward to it for the score and songs. Trailer looks fantastic!
bwayobsessed

I'm really looking forward to this. I am a bit disappionted that Idina doesn't have a bigger role, but I will still go see it & sit there waiting for her to show up. Rolling Eyes With Hairspray just being released, this happening in November, and Sweeny Todd coming in January 2008, it looks like the musicals are trying to take back the box office!
*BroadwayLights*

This movie actually looks pretty good.
Glissando

Wasn't Cheno supposed to be in this?

Cheno isn't in it, or it would have said something about that.
wicked_boy

I heard ages ago that there's some film (I think it might be Shrek 4 or 5 or whatever number we're at) that includes Cheno and Menzel as good and bad witches. Anyone heard anythnig about it?

really? We're at the third one of Shrek. What is it with Idina and Kristin as good or bad witches? Question
*__ElphieTheWitch__*

I'm so excited about this movie! One because it's Disney, and two because Idina's gonna be in it and gets to sing, at least something. I've even got seats reserved for the El Capitan Theatre out here in LA to see it at 7 the day it comes out! Very Happy That Shrek thing sounds interesting...I'd probably enjoy it a lot more. XD The first two were okay, and the third just had its moments.

I heard that Idina doesn't sing a single note in this film...
Jman383

Well we know that she is James Marsden's love interest and they did record a duet together. Whether or not its in the movie or not, we won't know.\ until it comes out.
Mistress

I heard that the duet is going to be the beginning theme of the movie or something...wait I just checked Wikipedia aand it says it's been cut...Personally I hope she sings in the movie at least a teeny bit. I mean, it's stupid to hire a singer/actress for a musical movie if she ain't gonna sing.

Are she and Marsden really supposed to be a couple in the movie? I suspected as much since Amy Adams falls for Patrick Dempsy, leaving both of them single and open for a romance...sorta predictable...but I do want to see this, if only for Idina and Susan Sarandon in that freaky costume...and James Marsden's puffy pants Mr. Green

SHE DOESN'T SING IN THE MOVIE. SHE DOESN'T SING IN THE MOVIE. Her and Marsden are a couple - yes. But, I must again say, this movie is not about Idina. It seems for once Wikipedia is right as the song Idina sung has been but and replaced by Carrie Underwood in order to drive the song in the charts when it's released.

But - yes - do listen to this episode to hear me talk about the film more http://www.musicaltalk.co.uk/episodes_0053.html

That's where I heard it, too. Very Happy
But I think the film looks good - nice to see a classic Disney musical in a nice, shiny new format!

You can also see Hairspray. Smile
Mistress

Sorry, for being so obtuse Nick... d'oh! But I still think it's dumb to cast a singer/actress in a movie musical and then cut the only song she sings out of the movie

On another note there are going to be some Disney cameos to pick out including Jody Benson and Paige O'Hara...oddly enough 2 of the few women to have spoken and sung for their characters (Belle and Ariel) Like Amy Adams is doing for Giselle. I believe Sleeping Beauty was also all one actress, but she's probably already bit the the dust or close to it.
nickhutson

Don't worry! I was expecting her to sing, but once I saw her character I realised there's no point for her to sing.

It just annoyed me when I was talking to a friend who when was told Idina did no singing in the movie, the friend then said "I'm not going, then".
*__ElphieTheWitch__*

I heard from my friend that she found out that Idina gets to sing at least a little in the movie.
nickhutson

Nope. Trust me please - she doesn't sing.

I'll look for Jody. I saw her in the original cast of Crazy for You in NY.
totallywicked13

Enchanted

Paige O'Hara and Jodi Benson are both in it Smile I've seen it and Idina DOSN"T SING ONE SINGLE NOTE throughout the whole movie.
Idina isn't really a main character, 'Cuz she's shown about 3 times!
Has anyone else seen this, so they can add anything?
Asha

I saw the movie last weekend--and I adored Idina, even though her part was admittedly very small. She ends up with the prince in the end... And she was animated! Animated IDINA!!! WHOO!

Yeah, I adore her. Very Happy
nickhutson

But try not to give away too much of the ending for those who haven't seen it. Spoiler alerts are good things...

It's just really fun to do that though! Mr. Green
Lilithia

I thought they were going to throw in a cut clip of Idina singing on the dvd a duet with... gosh I forgot his name. It was mentioned too somewhere that they had a song called "Enchanted..." but then when I bought the dvd, it wasn't there!! What happened!?
